TSN's Ice Chips
Forward Brad Larsen will consider hip surgery to resolve the abdominal strain that has kept him out of the lineup all season. Larsen was acquired from the Atlanta Thrashers for Mathieu Schneider during training camp. - LA Times
Marco Sturm (whiplash) may not be able to play in tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, which could lead the Bruins to call up Vladimir Sobotka. - Boston Globe
Defenceman Frank Kaberle (lower body) was a scratch for Carolina Sunday, as were forward Scott Walker (leg) and goalie Cam Ward (groin). Ward was also placed on the IR. - Raleigh News Observer
Adam Foote skated Sunday, but the Avalanche aren't sure when he will be ready to play again. He has missed eight games because of back and knee injuries since getting hit from behind by Los Angeles' John Zeiler on Nov. 22. - Rocky Mountain News
Dan Cleary started Saturday's game with Jiri Hudler and Valtteri Filppula, but finished it with Marian Hossa and Pavel Datsyuk. "We needed to get something going," coach Mike Babcock said, "so I put Cleary there and I thought he did a good job." But Cleary will likely continue to be on the third line, because the Tomas Holmstrom-Datsyuk-Hossa line has been the Wings' best line all season, and the second line has Henrik Zetterberg with Johan Franzen and Mikael Samuelsson. - Detroit Free Press
Richard Zednik (elbow), Rostislav Olesz (groin) and Cory Stillman (concussion) could return to action on their four-game trip through Canada, but David Booth (shoulder) and Nathan Horton (ankle laceration) aren't expected back for a while. Craig Anderson will get his sixth consecutive start in goal for the Panthers on Monday in Ottawa. - Miami Herald
Centre Krys Kolanos was demoted to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League today. - The Sports Network
Jaroslav Halak is expected to be in goal on Tuesday against the Calgary Flames. - TSN
Goaltender Pekka Rinne, who is riding a shutout streak of 103 minutes, 38 seconds, will get the start against the St. Louis Blues tonight. - Tennessean
Wade Redden was out Sunday night after injuring his leg in Thursday's loss to Montreal. He is day-to-day and could return in time for Wednesday's game in Atlanta. In Redden's place, Corey Potter made his NHL debut, going minus-1 in 15:49. - Rockland Journal News
Dean McAmmond (chest/throat infection) skated but won't play tonight. The Senators will be wearing their new black third jersey and they are 4-0 when wearing them. Alex Auld will start in goal tonight. - TSN
Defenceman Randy Jones, who has yet to play this season after undergoing hip surgery, appears ready to return against the New York Islanders on Tuesday. - Philadelphia Inquirer
Goaltender Mikael Tellqvist is hurt with a lower body injury. He can play in an absolute emergency but the team doesn't want to risk his health. - Phoenix Coyotes
Vesa Toskala will get the start against the New York Islanders tonight. Head coach Ron Wilson said that rookie blueliner Luke Schenn will likely miss about two weeks with a leg injury after being hit by Alex Ovechkin on Saturday. He is scheduled to have an MRI today. Niklas Hagman is day-to-day, suffering from a headache. Defenceman Mike Van Ryn is expected to be back Friday against the Sabres or Tuesday against the Devils. Jeremy Williams, the Marlies' leading scorer, and defenceman Jaime Sifers have been called up and will be in the Leafs' lineup against the Islanders tonight. Sifers will be paired with Ian White. - TSN

I watched the Sabres/Pens game on VS, Versus HD no longer shares time with the golf channel so all their games should be offered in HD also now.
Anyways, the Pens seemed to have control of the game at 3-2, and then they failed to convert on a two minute long 5 on 3 powerplay which destroyed their momentum and gvae Buffalo life. Buffalo scored not too long afterwards to tie and then went ahead ion the third despite the referees calling penalties on the Sabres for daring to exhale near Sidney Crosby, Crosbaby also had a scrum late in the game when he was throwing jabs from behind the ref as the ref intervenes between him and another player. Look i'm glad the league has phenoms like Crosby and Ovechkin but calling penalties just for getting within a meter of them and letting them get away with cheap bulls**t is NOT beneficial to the game.
