Other than the defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings, the Ducks appear better suited than anyone else in the NHL's Western Conference to challenge the juggernaut that has been the San Jose Sharks through the opening two months this season.

Under the right circumstances, the Ducks might even get the better of the Sharks, who stretched their league-best record to 23-3-2 Thursday night with a 2-0 victory over the Ducks at HP Pavilion.
