Centre Brian Sutherby, who has missed 10 games since straining his groin, is skaking with the team, but doesn't expect to return to action on Sunday. - Orange County Register

Veteran defenceman Mathieu Schneider, who has missed the last five games with an upper body injury, won't return to game action this weekend, but he could return on Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators. - Atlanta Journal Constitution

Forward Raffi Torres, who is out with a knee injury could return after Christmas. Forward Derek Dorsett will have his broken finger looked at by a doctor on Tuesday. Defenceman Rostislav Klesla will try to practice later on in the week. He's currently sidelined with a high ankle sprain. - Columbus Dispatch

Forward Sean Avery won't return to the Dallas Stars. He's staying in counseling and when that's completed the team will look for another place for him to play. - TSN

Defenceman Chris Chelios made his season debut on Saturday after missing the entire season with a fractured right leg. He logged 10:27 in ice time. - Detroit Free Press

Winger Cory Stillman is scheduled to return to the lineup tonight after missing 13 games with post-concussion symptons. - Sun Sentinel

Centre Mike Sillinger practiced on Friday, but didn't play on Saturday because of a groin strain. - Newsday

Forward Brian McGrattan has entered the substance abuse program administered by the NHL and the NHLPA.- TSN

Forward Jeremy Roenick is now expected to miss three weeks with his shoulder injury. The earlier estimate was two weeks. - Mercury News

Defenseman Eric Brewer didn't play on Saturday because of an upper-body injury. He is listed as day-to-day. - St. Louis Post Dispatch

Forward Martin St. Louis received eight stitches to his forehead after taking a skate to the face against the Ottawa Senators. He is expected to play in the Lightning's next game. - TSN

Sami Salo will not play tonight because of a groin pull. He's skated hard for the past few days but says, "it's just not there yet." Cory Schneider makes his 5th start of the season. General Manager Mike Gillis spoke about Roberto Luongo's injury and says the team "will be as cautious as they need to be." He won't give a time frame on the injury but is still downplaying it and the reports that it could be a couple of months. Luongo says he is "not back to square one" and still says the injury is nothing more than soreness. - TSN
