QUOTE
TSN's Ice Chips

cal.png The Flames did not skate this morning. They had a brief meeting at the rink following their win in St. Louis last night. Lost in the hype of Jarome Iginla's four point game last night was the effort put forth by Cory Sarich. He had two assists, two fights and was +4. He told TSN he would have to go all the way back to his junior days to remember a night like that. The players were really buzzing about it. - TSN

car.png The Hurricanes activated Frantisek Kaberle from injured reserve. Defenceman Tim Conboy was sent back to Albany (AHL) to make room. - TSN

chi.png Defenceman James Wisniewski (knee) returned to the lineup Tuesday and notched three assists in a big win over Edmonton. His return forced Brent Sopel to the press box as a healthy scratch. Troy Brouwer, a good scorer in the AHL, is playing with Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp. Brouwer had three points last night. - Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald Times

col.png Defenceman Ruslan Salei was a healthy scratch Tuesday game against Philadelphia. Daniel Tjarnqvist took his spot in the lineup. - Denver Post

clm.png Columbus puts Fredrik Norrena back on waivers for the purposes of giving him his release. His agent, Larry Kelly, will likely try to place him in Europe. - TSN

dal.png Defenceman Sergei Zubov (hip) saw a specialist in Colorado on Monday. The Stars are still waiting for the test results. - Dallas Morning News

edm.png The Oilers were in action last night and are coming off one of the worst defensive performances in club history, a 9-2 setback to Chicago. It marked the first time Edmonton allowed that many goals since a 9-4 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on December 28, 1992. - TSN

flo.png Nathan Horton (foot) and David Booth (shoulder) came off the injured list Tuesday and practiced on Florida's top line with Cory Stillman. Richard Zednik (elbow) also was activated and practiced on a line with Kamil Kreps and Michael Frolik. Stephen Weiss (neck/back) might practice today and could be ready to go Thursday. - Miami Herald

la.png Kings goaltender Erik Ersberg (groin) is expected to miss at least two weeks. - LA Times

min.png Forward Marian Gaborik will play tonight against the Flames, skating alongside James Sheppard and Stephane Veilleux. These were the guys he played with in pre-season and his only two regular season games played ... Brent Burns is being moved back to defense for tonight's contest. He's been playing forward since Oct 30th ... Niklas Backstrom will get the start it goal. - TSN

mon.png Carey Price (lower body -- suspected hip flexor or groin) and Saku Koivu (right leg) skated by themselves half an hour before the team took the ice at noon today. Price is day-to-day, so the original four-day estimated absence that began last Saturday has been extended. Guy Carbonneau is not committing to Price returning this weekend's back-to-back games. Marc Denis may get a start with three games in four days starting tomorrow vs. Philadelphia. - TSN

Mike Komisarek will see the team doctor before Thursday's morning skate to get clearance. He says his shoulder feels fine and believes approval is merely a technicality. Komisarek has been out since mid-November and might have been cleared today, but the doctor was sick. - TSN

nsh.png Forward Steve Sullivan (back surgery) took part in his first full practice in almost two years Tuesday. There is still no timetable for his return, or a guarantee he will make it all the way back. - Tennessean

nyi.png Mike Comrie (hip) and Kyle Okposo (wrist) skated Tuesday and might be ready to play Friday. Mike Sillinger missed his second straight game with a groin pull. - Newsday

ott.png The Sens held a team meeting after Tuesday's loss to Atlanta. Daniel Alfredsson, Chris Neil and Jesse Winchester did not skate this morning. - TSN

phi.png Defenceman Randy Jones has been sent to the AHL on a conditioning assignment. Daniel Briere has been placed on the long-term injury list. - Philadelphia Inquirer

pitt.png Forwards Max Talbot (foot) and Mike Zigomanis (shoulder) did not practice Tuesday. Forward Ruslan Fedotenko also missed practice due to illness. - Post Gazette

stl.gif Defenceman Eric Brewer didn't play on Tuesday because of an upper-body injury. The Blues are optimistic Brewer could play Thursday in Washington or Saturday against Minnesota. St. Louis puts Cam Paddock on waivers. - St. Louis Post Dispatch, TSN

tmp.png Coach Rick Tocchet is trying five forwards on the first powerplay unit: Mark Recchi and Marty St. Louis on point, with Vincent Lecavalier, Vinny Prospal and Ryan Malone up front. The Bolts have failed to score in 26 straight PP situations. - St. Petersburg Times

van.png Curtis Sanford will get the start in goal this evening vs. the Oilers. Sami Salo's status (groin) is a game-time decision but appears probable. If he plays, he would be the only lineup change for the Canucks. -

It took Columbus to beat San Jose. In overtime, but I'll take any loss for San Jose that I can get.

The OT goal that won the game for Calgary was a beauty by BErtuzzi, but I highly recommend that everyone reading this check out the highlights for that goal. Langkow made an absolutely incredible play to pass the puck and get the pass to Bertuzzi.

Bertuzzi also did something i'd like to see more from Perry and Kunitz, LIFT THE PUCK OFF THE ICE!!!!!!
