bos.png Patrice Bergeron (concussion) will likely be out until the New Year. He has been told to rest at home and will be put on the injured reserve list. There is no timetable for his return, but the Bruins have been encouraged by his early progress. - Boston Globe

flo.png Tomas Vokoun will start Tuesday against the Predators and appears to have won back the starting goaltender job. He shut out the Avalanche on Saturday. - Miami Herald

min.png With defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron (lower-body injury) out, the Wild tried using Marian Gaborik on the point Saturday on a power play. The experiment was apparently abandoned at Gaborik's request. - Star Tribune

nj.png Centre John Madden (illness) and defenceman Bryce Salvador (upper-body injury) have missed two straight games. - Bergen Record

ott.png Several players missed practice on Monday for a variety of reasons. Daniel Alfredsson (upper body) did not skate, but will travel to Philadelphia. He will take the morning skate and, according to coach Craig Hartsburg, hopes to play. Dany Heatley (flu) also hopes to play against the Flyers. Chris Neil didn't practice Monday (maintenance) but will play. Ilja Zubov had his visa issues resolved and will play. Defenceman Filip Kuba (lower body) won't play. He was injured on the opening face-off of overtime on Saturday against Dallas. Hartsburg said Monday that he wasn't sure how long Kuba will be out, but Christoph Schubert will replace him on defence. Jesse Winchester (upper body) won't play. Dean McAmmond will be a game-time decision. He has missed 11 games with pneumonia. Alex Auld will start in goal against the Flyers. - TSN

phi.png Scottie Upshall suffered a lower body injury in the second period Sunday against New Jersey and did not return. Luca Sbisa was a healthy scratch for Randy Jones. - Philadelphia Inquierer

pitt.png Ryan Whitney finally has a return date. "We're targeting the game (Tuesday) against Tampa Bay," head coach Michel Therrien said. "We'll work with that plan." - Tribune Review

sjs.png With Milan Michalek out of Saturday night's game, Jonathan Cheechoo got a chance to play on the Sharks second line with Joe Pavelski and Ryane Clowe. Michalek is not expected to miss much time, though. - Contra Costa Times

tml.png Goaltender Vesa Toskala (groin) will rest tonight and will be reassessed tomorrow to see if he can play Tuesday at the ACC against Dallas. Justin Pogge will make his first NHL start tonight against Atlanta. Mike Van Ryn is out tonight and says he won't play Tuesday against Dallas. Ryan Hollweg will sit with Andre Deveaux getting the tap. Kari Lehtonen will start in goal for Atlanta tonight. - TSN
