Final score - 8-2 USA over Germany
Germany hung around until partway through the 2nd period, and from that point on it was all Team USA. The US goaltending has to be better. They have a great team, with a good combination of size, speed, and tremendous skill. This is a team that can win it all in this tournament, and is probably the best able to match up against Canada, who focused on size and speed and suffered for it in the size department. All of this will be completely moot, however, if they don't get the goaltending.
On another note, Eric Tangradi looked good out there.

Canada faces first true test of world junior championship against U.S.
The U.S., led by its big forward line of James van Riemsdyk, Colin Wilson and Jordan Schroeder, is capable of putting Canada in those situations. For the first time, Canada will face a country that can take the game to them.
"They're a skilled team like us," Tavares said. "They've got that big line and we've got to keep them under control.
"We've got to make sure we're playing physical as well and we don't give them time and space because they can make things happen, unlike maybe the teams we've already played."

After an unpromising start, Canada passed its toughest test of the world junior hockey championship Wednesday.
An overhyped and scattered Canadian team quickly fell behind 3-0 to the U.S., and trailed for the first time in the tournament, before pulling themselves together in a wild 7-4 victory.

Missed an amazing first period of the Ducks game tonight because I was catching the end of this game, a great finish and our prospects on the US team showed some good signs that make me optimistic.
