Of all the good ol' boys that Burkie brought to the Ducks, May was always a good fit in Anaheim. Steady, reliable and a genuinely nice person. Thanks for the Cup, MayDay! Enjoy the rest of your career wearing bleu.

He was so nice when I chatting with him during the SC Finals in 07.
We talked about being from the same hometown etc.. was awesome.

Don't need to recall anybody. Carter and Miller already in Anaheim.

That leaves only 22 on the roster. 7 D, 13F, 2G counting Perry who is still suspended for two games. They could operate without a spare forward for the next two games but not likely.

My bet is....Nobody.
Perry is only out for 2 more games. In the mean time, Montador can fill any emergency forward opening, with McIver filling the vacated D-spot.
Better question: Are Miller and Ebbett now up for good? If only one, which one?
I'll miss May. Likable guy.
But I thought from day one that either May or Sutherby needed to be moved since they filled pretty much the same role. Now they're BOTH gone. Murray seems less enamored with "old tough guys" than Burkie was. (And that probably isn't a bad thing).

MAY DAY!!!!
I loved Brad May here. Always worked hard. Tough competitor. I loved his fire and his enthusiasm for the game. I will always remember Brad May. Never stepped down from a challenge. Favorite May moment may be when he fought some guy then got up and yelled and pumped his arms to encourage the crowd... That's just the guy he is.
Thank you, Brad May.
You will be missed.

Great role player and model team guy, that Brad May. We'll miss ya, Mayday!!!
Burkie is putting a role model/mentor on his roster with this move. Too bad he wasn't as generous with his picks now as he was with the Ducks. He used to hand out second-rounders like candy...

He's saving that 2nd rounder for Morrison.

Good thing I own the Stanley Cup DVD. I love the bit of game one where he's wearing the mic:
Ottawa player (after May tries to deliver a hit): "Watch out for the boards!"
Brad May: "Who the f*** are you?"

That would be Saa-Weeeeet!
I would enjoy the gasket that would blow in TOR almost as much as I would taking away another of RC's security blankets...
Which brings up the point that I'm loving this current situation in that Carlyle is forced to play the young guys.
I'm totally comfortable with getting younger and getting faster. It's the new NHL.

Couldn't possibly be better than the one that blew around here when Burkie went one time too many times to the "Canucks Seniors Team" well of good ol' boys.
