The Bruins announced Saturday that the club has recalled goaltender Tuukka Rask from the Providence Bruins of the AHL on an emergency basis. - Team Media Release

Andrew Raycroft's career-high 43 saves in Colorado's victory Thursday night over Chicago not only improved his record to 8-1-0 but it's earned him a second straight start as coach Tony Granato indicated he'll go with Raycroft against Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday. -Denver Post

Center Joel Lundqvist skated Thursday morning but did not play against the Red Wings. Coach Dave Tippett said Lundqvist will practice Friday in Phoenix and could play Saturday against the Coyotes. - Star Telegram

Defenceman Sheldon Souray skated on Saturday and says he's good to go. The same goes for Sam Gagner, who says he's fine despite an ankle injury that's been bugging him. Robert Nilsson had his bell rung in Friday's game against San Jose and is being monitored. Zack Stortini suffered no torn ligaments in his knee from the fall he took Friday. His knee is strained and he'll be out for a while, but it's not nearly as bad as originally thought. - TSN

Winger Rostislav Olesz practiced Thursday morning, but he came off the ice limping and in pain, saying his injured groin doesn't seem to be getting any better. Olesz has been out since the first of December. He said he didn't think he needs surgery because a recent MRI didn't show any major damage. - Miami Herald

Rookie forward Oscar Moller will miss at least three weeks with a fractured clavicle which he suffered in a World Junior Championship game against Russia on Dec. 31. While he did play in Sweden's final two games of the tournament, Kings GM Dean Lombardi says the injury was not diagnosed properly by Swedish officials. - LA Daily News

A nasty stomach virus is making its way through the Wild dressing room, claiming Marek Zidlicky, Stephane Veilleux and now defenseman Martin Skoula, who missed only his sixth game in his nine-year career with an injury or illness on Thursday. Defenseman Jay Leach was a healthy scratch Thursday to make room for Colin White to return after missing five games with an undisclosed upper body injury. Leach, who played in only four NHL games before this season. - Bergen Record

Defenseman Lasse Kukkonen was waived yesterday, perhaps to make room for center Danny Briere, who has been skating aggressively and is getting closer to returning. He could play as early as Saturday against Toronto. Briere is recovering from a groin injury. Once Briere comes off LTI, the Flyers will still need to lose about $4.5 million off their cap.
