Centre Todd Marchant has a fractured pinkie finger and did not skate. - Orange County Register

Coach John Anderson said that winger Rich Peverley would play at centre. Peverley didn't always get to play that position for the Predators, who have Jason Arnott and David Legwand as their top two centres. Nashville put Peverley on the wing or on checking lines, and neither was an ideal fit. - Atlanta Journal Constitution

Jim Vandermeer is recovering from a broken leg but has been practicing with the team for about a week. He is naturally a defenceman but has played forward before. Wayne Primeau (broken leg) and Brandon Prust (broken jaw) are also out. - TSN

Coach Tony Granato doesn't anticipate that defenceman Adam Foote (triceps) will accompany the team on their upcoming road trip. A decision will be made on forward Ian Laperriere when the team practices. Laperriere has missed the past three games because of a back injury. - Rocky Mountain News

Goaltender Pascal Leclaire's injured ankle has responded well to the latest anti-inflammatory injection, Ken Hitchcock said. Right winger Andrew Murray (upper body) are questionable for Tuesday's game against Colorado. Left winger Raffi Torres plans to return Friday against New Jersey. - Columbus Dispatch

Fabian Brunnstrom (lower body) is now walking without a boot, but is still four or five days from returning to the ice, Dave Tippett said Sunday. Brunnstrom, who has never suffered a substantial injury in his career, said he wants to be careful. Tippett also said forward Landon Wilson (ribs) is likely out until after the All-Star break. Although he practised with the team, Saku Koivu says he will not make the trip to Boston for tomorrow's game and is not sure about a return against Nashville on Thursday. Jaroslav Halak will start in Boston tomorrow and Tom Kostopoulos will play. Carey Price skated on his own for 20 minutes today, which head coach Guy Carbonneau said "is a big step." - TSN

Predators captain Jason Arnott is expected to rejoin the team in Toronto and is listed as day-to-day with the lower body injury he suffered in Saturday's win over Chicago. Arnott is scheduled to go through a light off-ice workout Monday in order to see if he has a chance of playing against the Maple Leafs on Tuesday. Coach Barry Trotz said Arnott is questionable for Tuesday's contest, but probable for Thursday against Montreal. - Tennessean

Brendan Shanahan won't join the club in Vancouver, where the Devils play the Canucks Tuesday night. The earliest would be in Columbus when the Devils visit the Blue Jackets on Friday. But, more likely, it could happen when the Devils play the Islanders on Long Island Saturday. - Star Ledger
