TSN's Ice Chips

Milan Lucic (upper torso) and Patrice Bergeron (concussion) both took part in the morning skate Thursday, but stayed on for extra work and did not play in the game. There's a small chance Lucic will play Saturday night at Washington. Defenceman Andrew Ference also skated, but his return from a broken leg is not imminent. Manny Fernandez, who missed two games with a sore back, has recovered and served as Tim Thomas' backup Thursday night. - Boston Herald

Duncan Keith was knocked dizzy after a high hit from Buffalo's Drew Stafford in the Hawks' 4-1 victory Wednesday. He missed the rest of the game and was out of sight from all but his teammates and the team's medical staff at practice Thursday. The team said Keith is day-to-day and will be back at Friday's morning skate. - Chicago Sun Times

Goalie Andrew Raycroft, who suffered a minor calf injury Tuesday, practiced Thursday morning and is likely to start tonight against Edmonton. - Rocky Mountain News

Winger Ville Peltonen, who fractured a bone in his foot during Saturday's victory over Atlanta, practiced Thursday and will play against the Flyers on Friday. Centre Kamil Kreps practiced Thursday but will not play Friday. - Miami Herald

The Predators were without Jason Arnott for a fourth straight game Thursday in Montreal. Barry Trotz said he's hopeful Arnott will resume skating Friday, but called him questionable for Saturday. In addition, defencemen Dan Hamhuis (ankle) and Kevin Klein (food poisoning) were playing at less than 100 percent. - Tennessean

Kevin Weekes is expected to start in net tonight for the Devils in Columbus after Scott Clemmensen started the previous two games. - Star Ledger

It was originally thought that Brendan Shanahan would play against the Blue Jackets in Columbus, but Brent Sutter has said that Shanahan is in fact not playing tonight.- TSN

The team put recently-signed goalie Wade Dubielewicz on waivers in order to add him to the active roster. - TSN

Anton Volchenkov had his first skate with the team since suffering a shoulder injury Jan 3. He did not take contact and coach Craig Hartsburg says Volchenkov is getting close to returning - likely after the All-Star break. - TSN

Kimmo Timonen left the ice Thursday after being inadvertently hit in the mouth by a puck shot by Mike Richards. Timonen had several stitches administered and did not return to the game in Tampa. There is a chance he can play Friday, general manager Paul Holmgren said. Holmgren also said the odds of defenceman Derian Hatcher playing in the playoffs are "highly unlikely, but knowing Derian, I wouldn't rule it out, either." Hatcher has been sidelined all season with a knee injury. - Philadelphia Inquirer

Sidney Crosby will not play tonight against Anaheim, though an MRI showed no significant damage to his left knee. Crosby said his status for the All-Star Game next weekend at Montreal will be determined at a later date, though he is optimistic about playing. Kris Letang will not play tonight (ankle bruise), and Maxime Talbot out as well. Rob Scuderi (deep cut to forehead) is also a no-go against Anaheim. - TSN / Tribune Review

The team recalled forward Janne Pesonen from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League on Friday. - The Sports Network

Rob Blake didn't return for the second period Thursday after being struck in the face by a puck. Blake blocked a shot by Dion Phaneuf only to have the puck climb the shaft of his stick and do the damage. There was no immediate report on the extent of any injury. - Oakland Tribune

Defenceman Erik Johnson says the "worst is behind me" in his season-long rehabilitation on his right knee. Johnson had surgery in mid-November to repair a torn ACL and will report to doctors in about three weeks for a re-evaluation. A day after saying he would play against the Colorado Avalanche, Blues forward Keith Tkachuk (upper-body injury) missed Thursday's game against Colorado. He skated in the Blues' morning practice Thursday but afterward met with team trainers and decided to sit out. Tkachuk told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Wednesday that he did not suffer a concussion. - Post Dispatch
