My shift covering the GNTs is almost over. You'll get one more from me, and then the tumbleweeds that have been rolling through here, but not leaving much evidence these past couple of weeks, will see the old sheriff return. DK will be baaaaaack late this evening.

STL at Boston. 4-4 after three. The single most spectacular third period I've ever seen!! Going into the third STL leads 2-1, with like three minutes to go Boston takes a 4-2 lead. STL scored twice with six attackers, the tying goal with one second left! The last goal had to be reviewed for over 5 minutes! GREAT GAME!

Defenceman Dennis Wideman did not skate, having banged up his left knee on an illegal knee-on-knee hit from Alex Ovechkin. Manny Fernandez, who hasn’t played since Jan. 8, will be back between the pipes today in place of Tim Thomas. Fernandez, who is 14-2-1, missed two starts with a sore back. - Boston Globe

Peltonen was hurt Saturday when Tampa Bay’s Evgeny Artyukhin hit him in the second period. Kamil Kreps will be back in the lineup after suffering a shoulder injury Dec. 27 against Tampa. : Tomas Vokoun, who replaced Craig Anderson in the second period Saturday, will start again today against Buffalo. - Miami Herald

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/min.png) Forward Andrew Brunette suffered a right knee injury after slamming into the boards during Saturday's game against Anaheim. With an NHL-best streak of 497 consecutive games, he will try to play today against Chicago. - Star Tribune

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/mon.png) Christopher Higgins had his first full practice with the team since suffering a separated shoulder on Dec. 9. He will accompany the team to Atlanta and New Jersey but his return is more likely to occur after the All Star break. He feels skating with the team is more beneficial for getting his legs closer to game shape than staying in Montreal and skating on his own. Saku Koivu will also accompany the team to Atlanta and New Jersey. He has not been cleared to play, so a return immediately after the All Star break is looking more realistic. Mathieu Dandenault skated with the team prior to practice starting (suffered a broken arm on Dec. 9). Coach Guy Carbonneau was not sure whether Carey Price would play in Atlanta Tuesday or New Jersey on Wednesday, but he reiterated that if Price gets a game in this week, he wouldn't discourage him from playing in the All Star Game. However, he said he hopes Price sits out the Skills Competition. Georges Laraque (back injury) skated on his own with the Canadiens' strength and conditioning coach prior to practice. - TSN

Shean Donovan (lower body) won't play - he injured himself at the team's skills competition on Sunday. Jason Spezza left practice 15 minutes in on Monday because his back stiffened up, but expects to play tomorrow night. Jason Smith (lower body) will take the morning skate but is questionable. The Sens will likely call up at least one player from Binghamton. - TSN

Mike Van Ryn is having a concussion baseline test and if he passes it he will likely play. Pavel Kubina is ill and did not skate but is expected to play. The Eastern Conference-leading Bruins trailed 2-1 before scoring three times in a span of 1:39 late in the third period.

"I guess the best way to describe it is everyone involved except for the people in charge don't happen to think it was a goal," said Boston coach Claude Julien, who later went on to say, "we got what we deserved."

Boston's P.J. Axelsson and Michael Ryder had power-play goals 19 seconds apart, then Zdeno Chara scored off a faceoff with 3:05 left for a 4-2 edge.

"It was any hockey player's worst nightmare come true," Wheeler said of his shot from just outside the blue line. "It definitely hurts just to know how hard these guys fought all game to get back and pretty much get the win. To have it fall on my shoulders hurts pretty bad."

Mason kept the Bruins scoreless after replacing injured starter Manny Legace midway into the opening period until the late rally. Legace left with what the team called a lower body injury and wasn't on the bench for the remainder of the game.
