Since we're debating who should stay or go, I thought I'd throw the coach under the bus, I mean into the mix.

I'll start with a very firm YES.

PS: With one vote in, it's 100% in favor of dumping Randy.

If Randy Carlyle can't prepare a team to do better than to lose 8-4 to the second to the worst team in the league at a time when we need to win two out of every three games, it's time to move him out.

Probably any of the season ticket holders are qualified. They've watched all season what not to do. smile.gif

In all honesty, I'm not sure who is as important as who it isn't. The guys are not committed to Carlyle because they don't believe in him and they are not following him.

I'd think that the guy who provides the most-likely chance of success is Kevin Dineen, since he's both very familiar with a number of the players and the minor-league teams try to employ the same type of system. I think having a taste of another organization (outside the Ducks with Buffalo) is beneficial. He's also considered a players' coach, which is what the team really needs at this point, IMO.

But, I also think there are a number of other candidates out there ... even if it's interim. They may not be great options, but they are at least credible options -- and, quite frankly, better options at this point.

I don't think Carlyle ought to be fired for I believe that everyone's just sucking. He's got blame on his shoulders, but so do the players for their completely undisciplined performances. Who knows? Maybe having a new coach will see the Ducks in a new and good direction, but I don't think 100% of the blame is on Carlyle.

This is something that you, DK and L&G have been saying a lot lately and I'm not convinced its true. Bob Murray has access to the players and can talk with them away from Carlyle if he'd like. If Murray feels what you claim is true than he should fire Randy Carlyle. If he doesn't, he shouldn't.

If they can't pull it together this season, yes. Although pulling Hiller on the PP was lame.

Like I said in my PM to you, SC, I'm not trying to attack you or your credibility. I appreciate the massive amount of work you pour into covering the league (not just the Ducks), the number of games you watch, the number of articles you read and the number of people you talk to. What you produce on a weekly basis is a very valued source of information to me and the opinions you and Eddie share are both entertaining and often thought provoking.

That said, I think you are flat wrong on this issue. I've heard from a number of sources that I trust to be accurate that the guys don't believe in Randy and that his message has worn thin.

That could very well be the case, 432j. The way I see it, though, there are only four head coaches in the NHL right now who have coached a Stanley Cup champion and Carlyle is one of them. (Mike Keenan, Mike Babcock and Ken Hitchcock are the others). I'd like to see the Ducks hang on to Carlyle as long as possible because getting a coach that has the talent to guide a team to the Cup is not easy to do. Ask the Blues, Kings, Coyotes, Sabres and Canucks - all of which have been around a lot longer than Anaheim and each is still looking for their first championship.

hello everyone... im back haha here at allducks.com....been banned from the official mb since oct for being a bit offensive....sad.gif i regret it...w.e
my first post back id like to say the following.

we should fire carlyle
and fire murray

carlyle because he cant call a time out to save his life
he keeps juggling lines ..inturn that creates uncertainty amoung the plays and less.
how are you sopposed to know or predict your line mates moves and gather chemistry when your lines are juggled up every 2 shifts.
theres no cohestion... no contenuity... ( my spelling sucks) no chemistry

now for murray
his jolly ol * hasnt done anything.

we need to sell off pronger or scotty

its a hard thing to say because i LOVE scotty
pronger... hes an a-hole and i dont like him... takes penalties for no reason... doesnt apprieciate anaheims fans...oh theres so many reasons

as for scotty..well i wish he was 2 years younger and was going to play another 2.
but we just dont know... if we can id keep him. but prongs i wouldnt lose sleep

another one we need to get rid of is festerling. he is horrible id rather have hindy

marchant is old and he must accept a lower wage which im sure he will
selanne is signed
kunitz keep
getz perry ryan keep
phalson keep
robby... sell
moen keep
morrison sell
giggy.. yes im going to say it... sell but he has a ntc... shame cos he could bring in alot
anyways the list could go on and on.

bottom line is murray needs to free up some cap and impact this teams attitude.
we are missing burkes no bs attitude
we won the cup 2 seasons ago.... get over it
we are in 9th place and lost to 3 worst teams in the league.

its time for change
