Good trade, Christensen has good hands, he could do some damage on our top line

Top line? To me, this is again not a top-six player. He *might* sneak into the second line some games, but that's it.

Didn't see this coming. Okay, this tells me Murph is serious about making the playoffs and that makes me happy. I'm not terribly comfortable that another prospect has been dealt away but honestly this is a good move. O'Dell may or may not have turned into a good pro but it would be at least a few years away. Christensen will stick around for a while. Good move Murph!

Question though: Is he a winger or a center? If he's a center then there has to be another move coming. We have way too many centers now.

Awesome on the shootout if I remember right from his days in Pittsburgh.

Here's a look at Christensen: LINK

Christensen was flat out awful in Atlanta. He's 25 years old, 6'1" and 210 pounds with decent hands and will be a RFA after this season.

I'll be interested to see where Carlyle puts him and whether or not the Ducks re-sign him this summer.

he's never gotten much of a chance, sometimes being on a good team brings more out of guys

Glad to see something done to bring in a potential scorer, still feel something else should be done if we are going to be legit contenders this year.

He has great hands and good size. It'll be interesting to see how he does with a new look because he did nothing in Atlanta.

so we have a pair of guys who are passing way too much this season... i'm thinking putting a shooter next to them can be a good thing... can he play LW?

I give all players that come to the Ducks the benefit of the doubt and I try to let them play a few games with Anaheim before I evaluate them. I'll do the same with both Christensen and Nokelainen.

However, I have seen Christensen play a lot this season and he was awful. I'm not too optimistic that he'll be anything more than a younger version of Brendan Morrison but, we'll see what he does.

Christensen is interesting, even though he was terrible in Atlanta. Pittsburgh didn't like to give him up in the Hossa deal.
But one of the biggest hopes I had for this deadline was not losing O'Dell or Deschamps. I'm not thrilled.

This moves interesting, Christensen is too soft for a bottom 6 role, but hasn't shown much potential to play in a top 6 role. O'Dell could become somthing good but we won't know for a few years. Murray has depleted our prospect pool a bit in the last couple of weeks, especially up front, I thought the reason we acquired so many draft picks last year was to stock up our system?

Theres our new top line left winger folks. I'm pretty confident that's were he'll be playing, right along side Getz and Pears.

My friends brother is buddies with Erik too, so this makes it even more awesome. haha

I think Christensen would look great alongside Getzlaf and Perry.

Meh, I've never been a huge Christiensen fan, but then again, I wasn't too high on O'dell either.
