This thread was originally started to discuss Bobby Ryan changing from #54 to #9, over the following months, for a reason no one can quite remember or explain, it became the default thread to post any and all Bobby Ryan news, however unrelated it might be to his changing #s...

I guess I'm the only one that isn't happy about this. To me it's like having my second wife put on a nightgown my first wife used to wear.

LOL... but it makes it so much easier to forget your first wife ran out on you, if your new wife gives a better *******... uh...

The greatest player in sports history wore #99 and the second greatest player in NHL history wore #66 so I see no reason why Bobby couldn't have kept #54. I liked Perry being #61, I liked Getzlaf being #51 and I liked Ryan as #54. Those were numbers I associated with nobody else in all of sports. #9 is just filled with bad karma and it's especially going to look bad if they ever use throwback jerseys.

We would have run out of numbers long ago.

If we ever have a throwback 3rd... I may have to buy my first player specific jersey... THAT would be sweet!!!
