goducks1ux5.gif Defenceman Francois Beauchemin received full medical clearance Sunday and, as long as there are no setbacks before then, is a good bet to play Friday night. Veteran defenceman Bret Hedican (back) is also a possibility to play Friday or in Saturday's regular-season finale. - Orange County Register

clm.png Rookie winger Jake Voracek practiced on the top line yesterday with center Manny Malhotra and right winger Rick Nash. Winger Kristian Huselius (concussion) could join the team in St. Louis in time for Friday's game. Defenseman Rostislav Klesla returned to practice yesterday and might play tonight. - Columbus Post-Dispatch

min.png Defenceman Brent Burns (concussion) will miss the rest of the season and centre Pierre-Marc Bouchard (concussion) missed his sixth game in a row last night. - Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune

mon.png Defenceman Yannick Weber was recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League today. - Media Release

nj.png Centre Patrik Elias has muscle tightness in his leg and could miss the remainder of the regular season. Defenceman Niclas Havelid is day-to-day with lower body soreness. - Newark Star-Ledger

stl.gif Winger Paul Kariya (hip), who hasn't played since early November, is in Colorado this week hoping to get cleared for a return to the lineup. - St. Louis Post-Dispatch

tmp.png Winger Ryan Malone suffered a broken right hand last night that will keep him out of the team's final two games. - St. Petersburg Times

And Nash tied it in the 3rd, and they go to OT.

CBJ clinches their first playoff berth with that one point.

Congrats to the great fans they have in Columbus. Long time coming.

QUOTE
Joseph tied the late Gump Worsley for most losses in NHL history.

"There's too many good things in my life for me to even think about losses," said Joseph, fourth on the career victory list with 454.

With Martin Gerber expected to get the start in the season finale Saturday against Ottawa, the 41-year-old Joseph probably started his last game for the Maple Leafs.
...
Toronto teammate Brad May praised Joseph.

"It's pretty neat," May said. "It's not neat that he's got the most losses but think about how many games he's played.

"You know what? Cecil Fielder hit the most home runs one year, if I'm not mistaken, and he had the most strikeouts, too. Wayne Gretzky had the most giveaways one year and he had the most assists in the league. The bottom line is nothing ventured nothing gained. Curtis has been an incredible goaltender."
...
A pregame ceremony marked May's 1,000th NHL game. May played 425 of them with the Sabres. This was his 37th with the Leafs. May became the 21st player in franchise history to play his 1,000th game in a Leafs uniform.
