Ducks forward Mike Brown avoided supplementary discipline for his hit to the head of the Red Wings' Jiri Hudler in Game 1. THe league felt the five minute major penalty given on the play was sufficient. - TSN

The Ducks will likely switch up their lines for Game 2. Ryan Carter skated on a line with Andrew Ebbett and Teemu Selanne at practice on Saturday taking Erik Christensen’s traditional spot on the line. - LA Times

Bruins' forward Phil Kessel missed practice Saturday due to a swollen elbow. Kessel fell on the elbow during the second period of Game 1. Both Kessel and head coach Claude Julien expect the forward to be in the lineup for Game 2 however Byron Bitz took his spot on the first line in practice. - Boston Globe

The Hurricanes did not practice Saturday and chose instead to hold a video session at their hotel. - Raleigh News Observer

Along with battlinig the flu, Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews may also have a 'significant shoulder injury' according to a report. Toews reportedly can barely raise one of his arms. - Globe and Mail

Defenceman Brian Rafalski will miss Game 2 of Red Wings series with the Anaheim Ducks with a upper body injury. Chris Chelios will once again take his spot in the lineup while Jonathan Ericsson will skate alongside Nicklas Lidstrom. - Detroit Free Press

Forward Petr Sykora returned to the Penguins lineup in time for Game 1 against the Capitals after he was scratched the final two games of the series against the Flyers. He took Miroslav Satan’s spot on the Penguins second line. - Tribune Review

Defenceman Sami Salo did not board the team plane to go to Chicago. He will remain in Vancouver for treatment. He is listed as day-to-day and is questionable for Game 3. - TSN

The Canucks loss to the Blackhawks in Game 2 was extremely costly as forwards Pavol Demitra, Alex Burrows and defenceman Sami Salo all left the game with injuries. Sami departed immediately after scoring the Canucks opening goal with a suspected back injury while Demitra departed after a collision with Brian Campbell. - TSN

According to a report, Mats Sundin is playing the series against the Blackhawks with a sprained MCL in his right knee. - The Globe and Mail

Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau tweaked his lines prior to Game 1 against the Penguins and the move paid off. Boudreau took Matt Bradley off the fourth line and placed him on a line with David Steckel and Brooks Laich, replacing Eric Fehr. Laich and Bradley both earned assists on Steckel’s first goal of the playoffs. - Washington Times
