Bylsma wore skates rather than a suit to the 2003 Final, which ended with the Devils beating Bylsma and the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, coached at the time by current Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock, in seven games.

"I remember vividly, too vividly, what it's like to have the clock ticking down," Bylsma said.

Babcock does, too.

"Not winning is absolutely devastating," he said. "In a (salary) cap world you don't know if you're ever going to get a chance to be here, period. The teams are so close now, your opportunities, I think, are so few and far between that you'd like to make good on the ones you get."

Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury will be back in Pittsburgh's net after getting yanked when he gave up the fifth goal in Game 5.

"It wasn't his fault, the situation we were in,"Pengiuns coach Dan Bylmsa said in a conference call."Marc is the guy who is going in for Game 6.We believe in him. I know he's the type of guy who is going to be ready to go for Game 6.

"I know that every guy in that room wants to see him in that net for Game 6.They believe in him. They're confident in him, and they know he's going to respond."

Whoa! QMU!! worshippy.gif

It's down to all or nothing. The cup.gif is coming out of its case in Detroit, but which captain will be yanking it out of Bettman's hands?

"I think that's the story line of the playoffs," Bylsma said. "When your team can play well enough that different people can put on the cape on any given night. Tonight, it was Jordan Staal gets a big goal. It was a big play on the wall by Matt Cooke to get it out. Then Jordan Staal gets the goal on the 2-on-1. Then Tyler Kennedy makes pretty much a goal out of nothing. Just in the offensive zone, and he takes it to the net and stuffs it home.

"When your team plays well enough long enough and you put yourself in those positions, different guys are going to be the heros. Tonight it was 'TK,' and Jordan was also a huge part of that."

Head coach Mike Babcock has been pleased with Pavel Datsyuk's recovery and hinted he would play with Henrik Zetterberg in Game 6. "He looked really good, and I like the way [Zetterberg and Datsyuk] looked together. We'll start them that way, and we'll see what happens and let it go as it goes on. I was really impressed with Pavel out there today," said Babcock. - Detroit News

The Red Wings do not think they will get as many chances on the powerplay in Game 6. "[The Penguins will] be more ready at home," said Wings forward Marian Hossa. "They'll be more prepared. They took some bad penalties. They'll be more disciplined." - Detroit News

The Penguins do not blame goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury for their 5-0 loss in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup final. "Every guy in that (dressing) room wants to see him in that net for Game 6. They believe in him. They're confident in him, and they know he's going to respond," said head coach Dan Bylsma. "It wasn’t his fault, the situation we were in." - Tribune Review

Didn't it only happen once in the Finals that the home teams won all of their games? 2003 Anaheim and New Jersey. So that would mean that Pittsburgh chances has improved statisticly? Just imagine how Hossa must feel if Detroit losses game 7 at home. biggrin.gif

Neh. I still hope Detroit wins it. Because I buy the Championship DVD each year. So If Detroit wins I can watch the Ducks again. If Pittsbirgh wins I won't see any footage of the Ducks sad.gif

But if the Penguins win... that means Detroit doesn't.

Which is great news here in Orange County...

Red Wings fans are getting abusive to the point where I dread going to Ducks/Wings games at Honda Center (I stopped taking my kids this year already)...

Maybe a crushing loss at home in game 7 will tone them down... at least a little bit.

There should NEVER be ambulances lined up on Stanley Cup Way to deal with the aftermath of classless visiting team fans... that is something I don't want to see again.

i think all fans are getting out of hand. i have heard some bad bad stories even at the pond where fans of both teams have been very bad. even to the point where they mess with famlies that have little kids with them. i think its awful.
