Marsters was travelling westbound on Highway 20 when the deer, that had just been hit by an eastbound vehicle, struck his car. Marsters truck crossed through a ditch and ended up in a field on the north side of the roadway.

Marsters leaves behind a wife, Olivia, parents Gary and Karen Marsters and brother Adam.

Visitation is today, Friday, at Stonehouse-Whitcomb Funeral Home from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Private service to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Grimsby Minor Hockey Association of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty towards Animals.

“Nate was one of those guys that has this contagious laugh that I’ll probably never forget,” said Broad, who served as a volunteer assistant coach with the Engineers last season. “He was always laughing, always smiling. No matter what the situation, he could always make light of it.

“I was always impressed with how calming and relaxing a presence in the locker room as one of my leaders, yet how competitive he was on the ice. You always knew what you were going to get with Nate on the ice.”
