What do you think about your chances? Do you think that you can play in the NHL already in the next season?

I think I have no chances. It's a bit early (smiles). I consider my possibilities realistically and I think that I will be able to play in the NHL only in 3-4 years. For that time I try improving and trying to earn some experience in the minor leagues.

Sounds like this kid has a pretty good head on his shoulders.

Thanks for finding this and posting! Looks like we won't be seeing him here anytime soon.

Would you agree to play in the canadian junior leagues?

It's hard to say anything now. I've got 3 further years of contract with Metallurg Magnitogorsk and I am not thinking about leaving.

i want this kid to at least have a chance over here. He seems like a good goalie to have in the future.

Sounds like a wasted pick to me. What are the chances that the KHL ever allows him to come over here?

In the preliminary rankings you were ranked only 10th among European goalkeepers. Don't you think these rankings were playing down your abilities?

No, it stimulated me to work harder.

I liked this one wink.gif

Indeed it seems like he has some grey matter biggrin.gif

Doesn't seem like a waste... maybe a gamble but not a waste wink.gif

Agree. And goalie picks are almost ALWAYS a gamble.

What I took from the interview was that he IS open to playing in North America, but understands he's not ready yet. We'll see what he looks like in a few years when his contract there gets close to running its course.

Very big, I would say.

Interesting article on the difference between "RFA" in the NHL, and the KHL:

QUOTE
Things are done different in the KHL regarding RFAs. An RFA must sign a qualifying offer from his team. No arbitration. A player remains an RFA in Russia until he is 28. There is a "way out": Paying a third of the contract "price" to his KHL team.

Posted here because it could pose an obstacle somewhere down the road when/if Bobkov is ready to play in the NHL.

OR not.

If Radulov can sign with Nashville, then a few days later bolt to the KHL, Bobkov could do the same in reverse
