Looks like our boys will see the new Texas Stars (Dallas' affiliate) on opening night, Oct. 2. Then Oct. 3, we'll get to be the first visitors to the Cedar Park Center, home of the new Stars.

The Portland Pirates are hosting the 2010 AHL All-Star Classic Jan. 18-19.

Start getting acquainted with this sweater (at least we're no longer pig-headed) and logo ...

And T-bone the mascot ...

No "Baby Backs" but some very lovely San Antonio Rampage Ice Girls

2009-10 schedule:

Is the term "primary affiliate" a technical term, or a relative term?

I.e., do we have any official, defined-by-law (AHL by-laws) and secured-by-contract relationship with the Rampage, or are they simply hosting more of our prospects than any other AHL team?

Relative, like first cousin rather than second ... wink.gif

Probably should've used the term "main AHL team" or "primary hub" instead of creating one. Guess I'll go make a topic title edit ...

QUOTE
General manager Bob Murray said the San Antonio Rampage will be the main American Hockey League team that the Ducks will use this season in addition to a couple of other AHL teams in the Midwest.

The Rampage, affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes, will be the primary hub for recalling and assigning players during the season.

Our AHL guys will be farmed out to several teams, but it appears this will be the team that has the most of our players.

Not only the most, but as I understand it, the best of our AHL prospects will be on this team.

hmm San Antonio is a hell of a lot closer to Anaheim then Des Monies, maybe this whole thing is gonna be good for our minor leaguers...

Especially if Phoenix moves elsewhere, maybe San Antonio can become our permanent AHL team hmm.gif

I would use the term "main" rather than "primary".

As long as I don't think about what's actually being emitted from that bull's schnozz, I like that brandmark... at least for a minor league team.

Of course, most anything would be an improvement over C•H•O•P•S

That identity was doomed the day it was conceived.

Or especially if Balsillie winds up with them. I'm sure he'd prefer to have his AHL team in Canada, which could open the affiliation doors for us in San Antonio.

I feel like a vulture instead of a duck talking about it in this way...

Ireland welcomed 35 players to the first day of camp. Eight came from the Anaheim Ducks, who are without an AHL affiliate.

With a roster that size, Ireland said players are “going to have to make an impression early.”

“There’s going to be a lot of competition for jobs,” he said.

Will the Ducks players that play for the Rampage have to wear a Coyotes logo on their shoulder or will they be allowed to either wear a Ducks patch or leave it blank?

Go Rampage! (Can we get a dancing Bull in here as a smiley face?)

Sounds like a good ol' Catholic agenda to me (coming from that background) wink.gif

Here' the support:
QUOTE
Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with honor and majesty.

Who cover yourself with light as with a garment: who stretch out the heavens like a curtain:

Who lays the beams of his chambers in the waters: who makes the clouds his chariot: who walks on the wings of the wind:

Who makes his angels spirits...

And wine that makes glad the heart of man...

Psalm 104

I would say Baptist. My now deceased wife went to Baylor (a Baptist college), and told me a number of times that based upon how Baptists behaved on Fridays and Saturdays she understood why they had to spend all Sunday in churd.
