Former Duck, little brother of another former Duck, former Servite hockey co-coach, veteran Fantasy Camp attendee, and now recognized as the fantastic, no imitations, blogger "The Journeyman" (who will have his own website come mid-September) Sean Pronger also came out to have some fun with the boys.

Current Ducks player Brendan Mikkelson also was on the ice to help Coach Newell Brown (who subbed for Bob Murray who had been the advertised coach for this year's Camp) illustrate the drills.

New Ducks defenseman and newbie to Ducks Fantasy Camp, Luca Sbisa kept Mikkelson company for the entire length of the Camp.

Day 2 of Camp had Mikkelson and Sbisa returning for more skating with the campers. Todd Marchant, George Parros, and Brian Salcido also showed up to add to the campers' enjoyment. Steve Carroll stopped by to talk with the campers and gather information to use on game day for the play-by-play he'd be doing for their video. He wasn't involved much with the selection of his radio color guy, but thinks that he and Dan Wood will get along fine. Marchant is amused that his son Tim is upstaging him with his Element video player interviews, which all started from a school project. He suspects that Tim will get to do more holiday interviews this season. ana-ban.gif Salsa was surprised at the uncanny resemblance between himself and Sbisa, and perhaps the coaches will get the two confused. wink.gif

While campers are running a drill, Parros practices some stick and puck handling.

Salcido and Parros react to some light-hearted ribbing during the drills.

Campers head for the locker room for rest and refreshments, while the pros gather up the pucks.

Day 3 of Camp would be the last for drills and scrimmage. Salcido, Sbisa, and Mikkelson returned to assist, and Bobby Ryan also joined in for the day. Bobby went around the locker room to individually greet each camper when he arrived.

There was a lot of friendly talk between Bobby, Salcido and Mikkelson during the warm ups.

Sbisa and Salsa looking like one of those puzzles where you have to find what's different between the two (with Mike V in the background).

During scrimmage, Bobby gets behind Salcido's defense, Salcido tries to slow him down, but Bobby goes in for the easy goal.

Day 4, the last day of Camp, the campers get to put all their week's lessons into play. It's game day. There's the Camp photo at center ice, and then warm ups. Steve Carroll introduces each one and they skate to center ice to the cheers of their fans in the stands. The pro players and staff get recognized. Then the anthem is sung, and it's time for the puck drop.

Luca Sbisa showing his mad skating skills?

Mike Brown looking just way too serious about this game.

Andrew Ebbett trying the "stick out your tongue to skate faster" technique.

On the bench, Brown and Ebbett get to take a breather during the seesaw battle.

Sbisa pleading his case to the ref after defensively clearing the puck over the glass in the last minute of the game with the dark team trying to tie the game. laugh.gif

With a very sloooooooow clock and time standing still with a little over a second left in the game, the dark team did manage to tie up the score to end this Fantasy game in a shoot out. The pros sat out this round and let the campers be the heros. The white team won getting two goals to one for the dark. And thus ends the fantasy ... at least til next year.
