Just a thought but is it unlucky for the Ducks to have a player wearing the number of the year we won the Cup?

I don't think it even has anything to do with the year they won the cup...
It's been covered many times... the number is clearly cursed for the Ducks.

Numbers aren't cursed or not cursed. Get to the 21st century people.

That a pretty rational statement about the world. However, if I may quote from the Bard himself:
Horatio:
O day and night, but this is wondrous strange!
Hamlet:
And therefore as a stranger give it welcome.
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
Hamlet Act 1, scene 5, 159–167
Having experienced a few strange things myself, I am going to believe in, "The Curse of Number 7".

You can choose to believe whatever fantasies you want, but there are no curses, or voodoo dolls, or spells or whatever and I doubt a 17th century poet will change my mind on this.
The number is neither cursed nor not cursed. The Ducks have simply had crappy players wear it.

Karma is very different from luck. Karma is a matter of cause and effect, reap what you sow.

And as a result while 7 is considered luck by many people...
It is considered unlucky by Ducks fans...
Cause and effect... Balance.

Sorry, that's not how cause and effect are defined. Just because I may like "X" and you don't doesn't mean one causes the other.

Karma is defined by Merriam Webster as "the force generated by a person's actions held in Hinduism and Buddhism to perpetuate transmigration and in its ethical consequences to determine the nature of the person's next existence."
Luck is defined as "a: a force that brings good fortune or adversity, b : the events or circumstances that operate for or against an individual."
Both are considered forces.
What is being discussed here is that the wearing #7 leads to poor performance on the Ducks. The force or cause is wearing the #7, the effect is negative.
And while some may not believe in "luck" there are others who do not believe in "karma" either.

As someone who doesn't believe in either, I find the discussion hilarious. That said, I always make fun of any Duck who pulls on the 7.

It's a bad coincidence, remember when we used to have that problem with our Swedish players leaving the team for odd reasons? Now they leave for normal reasons.
