This is exactly who many of us wanted to see recalled, let's hope he makes the most of this chance.

Probably a lot earlier in Sexton's development cycle than anyone planned....but looking at our minor league prospects, I don't see any other really good options!
Sometimes greatness comes from adversity, so give 'em hell Sexton!
(Anyone else wanna take a shot at a rousing speach....I got nothin'.

Is he speedy/hitter/scorer/playmaker/ etc?
Man, I have a feeling that the RPG line is gonna see like 25 minutes a game for the next little while, until lupul comes back and shores up the 2nd line with Saku and Arty...

I'd say speed, scoring, passing. He's a little guy so no hitting. Check the Ducks Eggs forum there's stuff there on him

Yep, that's what I remember from pre-season. I think he's the one guy who surprised and impressed.
The problem is, he has that genetic flaw that most find hard to overcome: Size.
But considering that one of our biggest problems right now is simple PUCK CONTROL....passing, skating, not turning it over, and doing the smart thing....it might be a blessing to have him out there.

Ryan / Getzlaf / Perry
Marchant / Koivu / Sexton
Brown / Nokelainen / Artyukhin
Parros / Sharp / Beleskey
And let them play to their strengths...

sexton is an amazing player and to only give him 5 min on the ice would be super disrepectful the guy is amazing to watch on the ice he just makes things happen.

I agree about it being a missuse of his playing style/size(or lack there of) to put him with the grinders.
But why take Artyukhin off the 2nd line? Koivu probably has more chemistry with him than Marchant and he and Teemu wanted Artyukhin.

I guess you could swap Artyukhin and Sexton on my line combos. Brown has speed to spare to Nokelainen could set them up. Sexton could go anywhere but the 4th line...

Well I was talking more about Artyukhin repalcing Marchant.
I could see either of these fairing well.
Ryan / Getzlaf / Perry
Artyukhin / Koivu / Sexton
Brown / Marchant / Nokelainen
Parros / Sharp / Beleskey
Or
Ryan / Getzlaf / Perry
Artyukhin / Koivu / Marchant
Brown / Nokelainen / Sexton
Parros / Sharp / Beleskey

Yeah I can live with those. Anything BUT the 4th line

Which is probably what we will see.

"Any time you get to see a player go up and play their first NHL game, it's exciting," Moose coach Scott Arniel said after this morning's skate. "I talked to him on the phone last night and I think he thought I was kidding when I told him. He was in the ECHL a couple of weeks ago, was here and now is up there. It's great to see him get a chance.
"We've seen flashes of his skill. You can see he has really good hands. He's smart with the puck. He's not a big-body guy but he does a good job of staying out of the way, not get run over by some big guys. He's got lots to learn at this level but he's shown some good signs."

I kind of got a chuckle out of, "...and I think he thought I was kidding when I told him." ECHL to AHL to NHL in a span of couple of weeks. Wonder if he knows where all of his underwear is right now?

This is one thing I rather enjoy about hockey. The chance to watch someone live his dream. Sure, it would be better for all of us if Teemu was playing, and Sexton was working on his game.....But I still get a thrill.
The wife is always questioning why I care so much about watching a Beleskey, or a Sharp, during games. "Perry and Getzlaf are on the team, you know!"
Yeah...But that's old news. These new kids have something to prove, and I get to watch it.
Hockey can be fun....even when you're losing. (You just have to try harder).

Need to spread the talent to cover our current deficits.
that second line actually looks pretty good!

They wanted him but the R2/ Koivu/ Selanne line didn't produce squat 5 on 5.

I like it. That's a line-up I'd like to see.
Well, okay, not like to see, but given our injury situation... I'd rather see that than something else.
But... I still think most of our offense is going to need to come from the PP. Special teams just got that much more important.
