Rookie Evander Kane has impressed head coach John Anderson. "He doesn't seem like a rookie to me," said Anderson. "He makes a few young mistakes, but for the most part he's gung-ho all the time. He's chasing pucks, he's strong on the wall and he has eight goals already -- not playing the power play. I'm going to have to find him some more ice time." The Bruins are optimistic winger Milan Lucic can resume skating in about a week and be back in lineup sooner than originally expected. Lucic suffered a high-ankle sprain Nov. 25 in Minnesota. - Boston Herald

Patrick Sharp played center between Kane and Andrew Ladd, Kris Versteeg moved to left wing on the top line with Marian Hossa and Jonathan Toews. Head coach Ken Hitchcock switched some of his defensive pairing by separating Fedor Tyutin and Anton Stralman on Saturday. Stralman played with Kris Russell and Tyutin skated with Marc Methot. On Saturday against the Thrashers Tomas Vokoun (lacerated ear) wore a skull wrap to hold the injured ear down. He also had additional padding around the injury. He used an old mask in the game because his new mask was damaged by teammate Keith Ballard in the odd incident where Vokoun suffered the ear injury. - The Associated Press

Sergei Kostitsyn (lower body) was given a therapy day did not skate. Head coach Jacques Martin says he is day-to-day and will be evaluated on Monday. The coach does not think Kostitsyn will miss time.
It was Benoit Pouliot's first full practice with the team since being acquired from the Minnesota Wild. He needs to build strength in his injured right wrist and Martin believes he may be ready to play near the end of next week. Jonas Gustavsson underwent a repeat heart ablation procedure on Friday. The doctors said they are confident they fixed Gustavsson's heart condition. The first procedure took place on September 15, 2009 during training camp. The determination was made after Gustavsson was examined on Wednesday by medical specialists. - TSN
