TSN's Ice Chips
Defenceman Steve Eminger was a healthy scratch for a third consecutive game and forward Evgeny Artyukhin was scratched for the second straight game. - L.A. Times
Patrick Lalime is expected to return to the Sabres today after his weekend conditioning stint with Portland of the AHL and it's reasonable to think he could get the call in goal tonight. - Buffalo News
With goaltender Craig Anderson nursing a sore neck, Peter Budaj will get this third straight start tonight, with Tyler Weiman suiting up as the backup. - Denver Post
Forward Derek Dorsett will return to practice and hopes to play Wednesday night against Florida. The third-line winger has been out since suffering a concussion Nov. 19 in Dallas. The Jackets expect Fredrik Modin (knee) to practice all week as he works toward his season debut. - Columbus Dispatch

James Sheppard was bag-skated in anticipation of a healthy scratch, but he was a late fill-in for ailing Cal Clutterbuck on Saturday and scored his first goal of the season. Sergei Kostitsyn (lower body) was given a therapy day and did not skate. Head coach Jacques Martin says he is day-to-day and will be evaluated on Monday. The coach does not think Kostitsyn will miss time.
It was Benoit Pouliot's first full practice with the team since being acquired from the Minnesota Wild. He needs to build strength in his injured right wrist and Martin believes he may be ready to play near the end of next week. As a result, Ryan White was returned to the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL). - TSN
