Left wing Kyle Calder, who suffered an eye injury at practice on Oct. 28, was cleared for full contact during practice on Monday and could be available this weekend. - Orange County Register
Defenceman Derek Morris and Dennis Wideman who both missed time during the third period of Saturday night's game, were both given a maintenance day on Monday and did not practice. - Boston Globe
Goaltender Cam Ward has been activated from the long-term injured list. Ward has missed the Hurricanes' last 13 games after being cut on his leg by a skate in Carolina's game at Columbus on Nov. 7. He is eligible to play in the Hurricanes' game at New Jersey on Wednesday, Dec. 9. - Media Release

Forward Dany Heatley and defenceman Dan Boyle both did not practice on Monday for what the team called a maintenance day. Heatley was suffering from flu-like symptoms, while Boyle was resting after heavy workloads in the last two games.
