QUOTE
goducks1ux5.gif Forward Ryan Getzlaf suffered a laceration on his right leg in Saturday night’s game when he accidentally cut himself with his skate blade. Getzlaf did not practice Sunday and was seen walking with a bandage around his knee. Head coach Randy Carlyle said it was possible that Getzlaf could play Tuesday against Minnesota, but he was taking precaution. - Orange County Register

Forward Kyle Calder cleared waivers on Tuesday. - TSN

bos.png Bruins left wing Milan Lucic, out since Nov. 25 with a high ankle sprain, is skating and hopes to play as early as the Jan. 1 Winter Classic at Fenway Park, if not soon after. - Boston Globe/Herald

chi.png Winger Kris Versteeg and defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson, who both missed the last two games with the flu, are expected to return against the Stars. Forward Adam Burish, who had knee surgery just before the season, has begun light skating. - Chicago Tribune

dal.png Defencemen Trevor Daley (shoulder) and Stephane Robidas (face) are probable. Fellow blueliner Mark Fistric (concussion) is questionable. - Dallas Morning News

flo.png Rostislav Olesz was back at practice after missing Saturday's workout and Sunday's game with the flu. Shawn Matthias and Steve MacIntyre were returned to the team's AHL affiliate in Rochester, N.Y. - Miami Herald

min.png The team will be without winger Chuck Kobasew for four to six weeks, and potentially a whole lot longer, because of sprained anterior and medial collateral ligaments in his left knee. GM Chuck Fletcher said that Kobasew will be revaluated after that timetable to determine if the best course of recovery is rehab or surgery. - Star Tribune

nsh.png Centre Dave Scatchard cleared waivers on Tuesday. - TSN

nyi.png The ongoing rehab of goalie Rick DiPietro continued yesterday as he worked out at the team's practice facility in hopes of playing a game for Bridgeport in the AHL this weekend. DiPietro hasn't suited up since he was pulled after two periods on Dec. 11 in his second rehab start with the Sound Tigers after experiencing tightness in his leg that the team said was unrelated to his knee injury. - New York Post

nyr.png Forward Vinny Prospal, who leads the Rangers with 24 assists and is second in points with 32, underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Monday morning that the Rangers expect will keep him out of action for anywhere from 10 days to three weeks. - New York Daily News

ott.png Nick Foligno (knee) continues to skate with the team and is expected to be back in the lineup by end of the week. - TSN

phi.png Defenceman Ryan Parent (lower body injury) skated on Monday but is still quite a bit away from returning to the lineup. Ray Emery (abdominal surgery) and Brian Boucher (lacerated finger) were back on the ice at Skate Zone, but only Boucher remains a possibility to return to the lineup this week. He is listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Rangers in New York. Emery remains on a six-week rehab program, which would place his return to the lineup on or before Jan. 20. He says he's ahead of schedule. - Philadelphia Inquirer

pho.png Forward Vernon Fiddler returned to the ice after missing three games with a lower body injury but left after a few minutes. James Vandermeer was a late scratch but Dave Tippett said it was nothing serious. - Arizona Republic

pitt.png Defenceman Mark Eaton said he hopes to play for the Penguins at Buffalo tonight. Eaton, who has missed three straight games with a lower-body injury, participated in a full practice Monday for the first time since he was injured Dec. 19. Left wing Chris Kunitz and defenseman Alex Goligoski did not practice. Bylsma said they were given "maintenance days," which in Penguins lingo usually means a day for rest but could also mean off-ice workouts. - Tribune Review

stl.gif Winger Paul Kariya is doubtful for tonight's game against the Preds with an upper-body injury. - St. Louis Post Dispatch

van.png On Tuesday, the team placed defenceman Mathieu Schneider on waivers. - TSN

The Canucks recalled centre Alexandre Bolduc from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL on Monday. Bolduc, 24, has appeared in seven games with the Canucks this season, registering two penalty minutes. In 13 games with Manitoba this season, he has collected 20 penalty minutes and three points. - Media Release

wsh.png The team assigned goaltender Semyon Varlamov to the Hershey Bears of the AHL, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced. - Press Release
