I'm thinking we reclaim him....
It would actually surprise me a little of we did not.

It worked with Kunitz.

Kind of depends on our needs right now....
If Koivu is expected to be out for awhile longer, then yes, Ebbett is a quality short-term replacement for that role.
On the other hand, if you want to reclaim him JUST to send him to the minors, I could see the Ducks passing. We're having enough trouble finding acceptable homes for the guys we already have. And you can't assume he will be available as a call-up later, since he'd have to pass through re-entry waivers.
But, I just don't see him fitting into the bottom 6.

Yeah, I was kind of basing my expectation on Koivu being a little further away, but I had seemingly misread an update on his status...

...
He (Ebbett) said he hopes to find a home with the Wild. "I know they're a very hard-working team every time I've played 'em, and that kind of suits my style," he said by phone.
Ebbett described himself as "a puck-moving center man" but added, "I'm willing to do anything right now to make sure I can help this team. It's a chance for me to prove myself and prove I can play in this league. I had a really good year last year, and things haven't really worked out."

What's the pool for how long before he gets waived again?

Minnesota has some injuries and hasn't been able to fill the holes with players inside the organization (that article mentioned that they sent down Smith and Irmen during the same day).
With Bouchard, Sykora and Pouliot all out indefinitely and Havlat and Kobasew both missing time with nagging injuries, Ebbett is the perfect fill-in.
Once those players start coming back (Havlat, Kobasew and Pouliot are the closest to coming back), Minnesota will have too many forwards and Ebbett's play will dictate whether he gets to stick around. Minnesota already has a wealth of centres in Mikko Koivu, Eric Belanger, Kyle Broziak and James Sheppard, so much so that they have experimented with using Sheppard on the wing. As we all know, Ebbett is more effective down the middle than he is against the wall, so he looks like he'll be taking over the 2nd line centre role for the time being.

That's for all the people that chastised Bob Murray for placing Ebbett on waivers.

I think he's in a similar situation as Miller right now. Injuries are the reason he'll be playing, but if he plays well enough he might be able to stick around. It's just that the odds are he'll find himself on waivers again at some point, when they start getting players back.

I've called upon CSI: Miami's Horatio Caine for a little forensics, and I'll get back to you. Ebbett is out with a concussion, the fourth Wild player to get concussed.

Very similar to the hit Phaneuf put on Ebbett last year. He's not wearing a Ducks uniform now though, so the league can suspend the other player.
