We're watching the Leafs game just now and it's not looking good for the blue & white However I always say that they will triumph, so I'm sticking with my good thoughts

It's 1-0 Pens with about 2 minutes left in the first period.

There was about to be a penalty shot however on review the previous shot actually went in the goal so it's now 2-1 Pens with 3 minutes left in the second.

F Teemu Selanne's return from a broken hand will be a game-day decision. Selanne said he expects to be available Saturday, which would be his first game since he broke a bone in his hand Dec. 3. - Orange County Register

Head coach John Anderson said top-line forward Nik Antropov is "very doubtful" for Saturday's game against the Capitals. Antropov has missed the past two games with a hip injury and did not practice Friday. D Zach Bogosian has fully recovered from a previously undisclosed injury to his wrist, Anderson said. - Atlanta Journal Constitution

C Marc Savard will miss 3-4 weeks with a Grade 2 partial MCL tear in his right knee. He will not require surgery. The team recalled Trent Whitfield from Providence (AHL) on an emergency basis. - Team Release

Jamie Lundmark has been called up and will play on the top line with Jarome Iginla and Daymond Langkow. - TSN

The Flames are 2-1 in head-to-head meetings versus the Canucks this season. Brandon Prust and Mark Giordano are the teams leading scorers with 3 points each, while Olli Jokinen has zero points. - TSN

F Tuomo Ruutu left Friday's game with an "upper-body" injury early in the first period after a fight with the Avs' Darcy Tucker. Ruutu did not return, and head coach Paul Maurice said his status is "probably more than day to day." Maurice did say that Ruutu did not injure a hand in the fight. - News Observer

Eric Staal is on an indefinite leave of absence from the team following the death of his wife's sister. He has missed two games so far. - News Observer

Cam Barker missed his second straight game with an upper-body injury. The defenceman made the trip and could make his return in the next game Saturday against the Wild. - Chicago Tribune

The Avalanche lost veteran D Adam Foote to an ankle injury late in the second period, after he went down in a tangle behind the Colorado goal line. - Denver Post

D Nicklas Grossman missed Friday's game against the Islanders with a lower body injury and is listed as day-to-day. - Dallas Morning News

The Wings saw Henrik Zetterberg and Dan Cleary return from injuries the same night Tomas Holmstrom began a three- to four-week absence because of a non-displaced fracture in his foot. Holmstrom flew home to Detroit on Thursday morning. While he now joins an injured group that already included Johan Franzen (knee), Niklas Kronwall (knee), Jason Williams (fibula) and Jonathan Ericsson (knee. Ville Leino was inserted into the lineup in place of Holmstrom. - Detroit Free Press

Marc Pouliot, who has missed the entire season with a sports hernia injury, participated in the first on-ice session of mini-camp Friday but not the second. No word on when he might play a game. Neither Mike Comrie (mono) nor Nikolai Khabibulin (back) were on the ice Friday. - Edmonton Journal

The Kings will change two of their lines. Oscar Moller will move up to the third line with Alexander Frolov and Michal Handzus, and Brandon Segal will play on the fourth line with Raitis Ivanans and Jarret Stoll. - L.A. Times

F Andrei Kostitsyn had arthroscopic surgery on a torn ligament in his left knee Friday, and will miss six weeks. Sergei Kostitsyn (ankle) is expected to miss two more games. Georges Laraque (upper body) will not play Saturday against the Devils. Ryan White has been recalled from Hamilton (AHL) to take his place. Jaroslav Halak starts again for Montreal. - TSN

RW Steve Sullivan (lower body) and LW Martin Erat (knee) are probable for Saturday's game against Anaheim. C Jason Arnott (upper body) and RW Joel Ward (wrist) are questionable. - Nashville Tennessean

Forward Jesse Winchester went down awkwardly after colliding with Panthers defenceman Keith Ballard in the second period of Saturday night's game suffering a leg injury. He needed to be helped off the ice and did not return.
Defenceman Filip Kuba also left Saturday night's game against the Panthers after appearing to jam his writst in the third period. He did not return. - TSN

Brian Elliott will start in goal Saturday against Florida. Shean Donovan and Alexandre Picard will be healthy scratches for Ottawa. - TSN

Milan Michalek (upper-body) is out indefinitely. The team has recalled Zack Smith and Martin St. Pierre from Binghamton (AHL). - TSN

G Ray Emery has been loaned to the Philadelphia Phantoms (AHL) for conditioning on Saturday. He will rejoin the Flyers on Sunday. - Team Release

The Coyotes activated forward Daniel Winnik off of injured reserve, and placed forward Scottie Upshall on injured reserve, retroactive to Jan. 2. - Arizona Republic

The Lightning benched one of their perceived core players Friday against New Jersey, as D Andrej Meszaros was a healthy scratch. "He's put himself in this position, as he hasn't played well," Lightning coach Rick Tocchet said. With Meszaros out of the lineup, Matt Walker returned to the ice for the first time since suffering an injury on Dec. 17 in St. Louis. - Tampa Tribune

Tocchet said Halpern will not play Saturday, and he likely won't be ready for Tuesday's home game against Washington. The target date appears to be Thursday against Florida. - Tampa Tribune

Defenceman Mike Komisarek will miss at least a week to 10 days minimum with what is believed to be an injured shoulder.
Injured defenceman Carl Gunnarsson could return Thursday against the Flyers. - TSN

It appears Evan Oberg will make his NHL debut in place of Sami Salo this evening. Salo did skate on Saturday after taking Friday offf but did very little in the optional. Salo took a stick in the eye from teammate Willie Mitchell on Thursday. He returned to the game but the eye has since swelled up... Roberto Luongo was the only regular who skated on Saturday... Brad Lukowch will play his first NHL game of the season and makes his Canucks debut this evening. - TSN
