Cap Geek is reporting that goalie, Marco Cousineau, has been signed by the Ducks to an entry level contract.

Since we're "overstocked" in goal for the teams we are supporting right now, I guess that means two things(?)
- A goal tender is probably leaving the sytem. (Lavaseur? Pogge? Higher up than that?)
- They are hoping to have an AHL team next year!! They better.

pogge is number 3. I am not sure where Pielmeier and levasseur stand now. Since at the beginning of the season bakersfield choose to keep pogge and pielmeier over levasseur and ducks reassigned him to i believe the CHL. Now last I heard levasseur is playing in the AHL. so not sure where the new guy is going to be placed.
Edit: Levasseur stats since joining springfield
2009-10 Regular Season Springfield Falcons 9 32 521 244 3.69 0.884 0 9 0 0
Not that the falcons are doing pretty horrible (8 Springfield Falcons 42 11 21 8 2 32 0.381 98 148 0-3-1-0 1-6-3-0 916) but for him to dominate in the CHL and then have a 0-9 record in the AHL this doesnt look good.

The only reason I plucked out Levasseur and Pogge's names is because they are both on the last year of their contracts. Of the two, I'd assume Levasseur is most likely to be let walk....He's been in the system for awhile, and doesn't seem to be progressing. At least that's the impression from afar.
Hard to remember now, but I think "normal" goal staffing usually included our two NHL guys, two for our AHL team, and one for our ECHL affiliate. I suppose it's possible that we'd send two to Bakersfield, but that doesn't appear to be a priority THIS year, so who knows what the plan is for next.

I don't think pogge is getting enough time in net. He played 9 games here in bakersfield and has played 8 games in SA posting a 4-3-1 record. Then on the side of pielmeier he has played 25 amazing games getting better has the year goes on. His record is 15-7-2. Thats amazing when he started the season as a back up to pogge. He definity has progressed a lot this year.

Throw in the occasional "oh crap" game were he gets lit up, he has done pretty well for us.

Thats what I first thought when I read this. Whats with the stockpiling of goalies?

Good to hear he's been signed, hopefully the Ducks have an AHL team next year so that he and Pielmeier won't have to fight over ECHL playing time.

Well we better have an AHL team next season.
We will be stacked in goal especially with Bobkov possibly coming here to play after looking very good in world juniors.

The one thing that really impressed me about Cousineau is his studiousness. He was actively soaking it up at training camp, like he wanted to take advantage of the time with the big boys.
It doesn't necessarily mean much at all except that the organization is allowed up to 50 contracts & wants to retain his rights.
