TSN's Ice Chips

Top line center Nik Antropov returned to practice on Monday after missing the past three games with a hip injury. However, head coach John Anderson said it was unlikely that Antropov would play Tuesday against the Senators. Goaltender Kari Lehtonen practiced with the team Monday for the first time since undergoing two back surgeries, the last one in October. Lehtonen will continue to practice with the team. A conditioning stint at AHL Chicago is a possibility. - Atlanta Journal Constitution

Cam Ward will get the start on Tuesday against the Maple Leafs. Tuomo Ruutu (upper-body injury) is expected to be out for a couple of weeks. The other 'Canes on the injured list are Erik Cole (upper body), Joe Corvo (leg), Sergei Samsonov (upper body) and Scott Walker (upper body). - TSN

Winger Jack Skille was reassigned to Rockford of the AHL on Monday. Skille was called up Sunday to fill in for winger Marian Hossa, who is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Hossa likely will play Thursday against the Blue Jackets. - Chicago Sun Times

Defenceman Adam Foote is expected to be out one to two weeks with an ankle injury, suffered Saturday at Carolina. He was examined Monday by the medical staff and the prognosis was made — retroactive to Saturday. Defenceman Brett Clark (cheekbone) could be back on Saturday. - Denver Post

Defenseman Kris Russell (lower body) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday. Left winger Fredrik Modin (foot) likely will miss his fourth straight game. - Columbus Dispatch

Forward Sergei Kostitsyn has not been skating and will not play in games through this weekend. His ankle has not healed as quickly as expected and he remains day-to-day. - TSN

Vinny Prospal declared himself fit to return to the lineup on Tuesday after making it through a full practice Monday for the first time since having arthroscopic knee surgery Dec. 28. - New York Daily News

Defenceman Carl Gunnarsson was on the ice before practice but will not play until Thursday at the earliest. Rickard Wallin will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday. - TSN

Looks like NYI, Philadelphia, STL, and SJS have obliged. Edmonton is down 4-0 so it's unlikely they will, but the Ducks get some serious help tonight. Hopefully they can take advantage of it tomorrow night
