Defenceman Christoph Schubert, who suffered a lower-body injury on Saturday, couldn't play on Monday. - Atlanta Journal Constitution

Winger Byron Bitz didn't play against the Senators on Monday because of an undisclosed injury. Patrice Bergeron returned after missing a few weeks with a broken thumb, wearing a splint under his right glove. - Boston Globe

Goaltender Cristobal Huet is slated to start for Chicago against Ottawa on Tuesday. - Chicago Daily Herald

F Milan Hejduk, who missed Saturday's game with discomfort in his right knee, had surgery on Sunday. He's expected to be out two-to-four weeks and will miss a chance to play for the Czech Republic at the Olympics. - News release

Alex Auld, who is on a two game win streak, will likely get the start on Thursday night instead of Marty Turco. - Dallas Morning News

The Edmonton Oilers have recalled forward Marc Pouliot from a conditioning assignment at their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield. - TSN

Petr Sykora, who sat for six straight games as a healthy scratch returned to action on Monday, only to be placed on waivers on Tuesday. Robbie Earl has also been placed on waivers. Guillaume Latendresse suited up on Monday despite suffering from flu-like symptoms. - Star Tribune

Following back-to-back losses, the Canadiens did not practice on Monday. They return to action on Wednesday against St. Louis. - TSN

Winger Jordin Tootoo, who has been out with a broken foot, could have returned to the lineup on Monday, but was held out because the club already had two forwards, Jason Arnott and Jerred Smithson returning from injury. - Nashville Tennessean

Goaltender Mike Smith has been sent back to Tampa, but he has not suffered any setbacks with his neck injury and could return to practice Wednesday. - Tampa Tribune

Forward Tim Brent was placed on waivers by the club on Tuesday. Wayne Primeau will likely return to the lineup on Tuesday when the Leafs play at Atlanta. - TSN
