A little help from Montreal and (gasp) Edmonton would be nice on this thin night of hockey games

TSN's Ice Chips
D Christoph Schubert missed his second straight game Tuesday with a lower-body injury. He was hurt during Saturday's game against Carolina. - Atlanta Journal Constitution
Marco Sturm (leg), Byron Bitz (undisclosed), and Steve Begin (undisclosed) remain day-to-day. Patrice Bergeron is back after missing two weeks with a fractured right thumb, but he still remains questionable on taking faceoffs. - Boston Globe
Forward David Moss missed practice Tuesday with a lower body injury. - TSN
F Milan Hejduk, who missed Saturday's game with discomfort in his right knee, had surgery on Sunday. He's expected to be out two-to-four weeks and will miss a chance to play for the Czech Republic at the Olympics. - News release
The team activated F Fredrik Modin from IR on Tuesday and assigned F Alexandre Picard to Syracuse (AHL). - Team Release

Defenceman Steve Staios was being examined by the training staff for a possible concussion while Marc Pouliot left practice early feeling light-headed after five games in five nights. - TSN
The Panthers will decide after their morning skate Wednesday if injured center Stephen Weiss (lower body) can play against New Jersey. David Booth (concussion) did not make Florida's road trip. - Miami Herald

F Max Talbot left Tuesday's game as well with an undisclosed injury and did not return. He went off shortly after being tripped from behind by G Dwayne Roloson. - Post-Gazette
There are indications that D Paul Ranger could be close to returning to the team after a three-month personal leave. Coach Rick Tocchet said an update on Ranger's status is expected soon. - Tampa Tribune
The Canucks will be without D Willie Mitchell for Wednesday's game in Edmonton and the team's shutdown defenceman also figures to miss Thursday's home game against the Dallas Stars. Coach Alain Vigneault said that "he is day-to-day with an upper-body injury." - Vancouver Sun

Wow... Vancouver player dives, PP they score the tying goal. In OT an absolute phantom call (and another dive) puts Vancouver on a PP. Horrible reffing again.
