This thread is for you to post POSITIVE things about JSG, the greatest goalie to date in Ducks franchise history. If you have nothing good to say please stay out of this thread.

Sad to see Jiggy go, but hope that we can get him back in some form or the other. Thanks for '03 and the Cup. Great memories. Best of luck in Toronto.

Thank you for getting me interested in the game of hockey. Without you, at the age of 12, I never would have watched another hockey game again. Your tremendous play in net in the 2003 playoffs made me want to watch more and more of you. Then, when I met you and the rest of the Ducks in 2005 before my birthday, and you wished me happy birthday, you made me want to watch every game and fall in love with hockey because of your kindness, and eventually play. When I met you in 2006 and you took a picture with me and told me how cool it was to be a female goaltender in the states, I knew I was doing what I loved. Thank you for winning the Conn Smythe trophy in 2003 and thank you for helping us to the win the cup in 2007. You will never be forgotten. Thank you for helping to instill passion in me in a classy, kind, and sportsmanlike way. You will always be a Duck.

J.S. Giguere is as classy of a professional athlete as there is.

Good luck, Jiggy! Here's hoping that you do well in Toronto.

You will ALWAYS have a place in the hearts of true Anaheim fans.

Thank you, Jean-Sebastien! You will forever be a huge part of some of these great memories around the Ducks. You've always been a tremendously classy player, teammate (for all I can tell at least smile.gif ) and human being. I wish you all the best with the Leafs and I hope and I am optimistic that you will prove all those people wrong that assume you are done, because we just know better. smile.gif

I also want to add that with your amazing play for the Ducks, you also have been a tremendous influence on thousands of kids playing the goalie position, me included. One could not find many better role-models. Thank you!

Thank you Giggy for everything you've done for this team! You made us a respectable franchise and gave us a chance to reach our ultimate goal, which we did. You meant and still do mean a lot to this franchise. We will never forget you and I hope you do well for the Leafs.

The Era is over...
Thank you for the memories! hah! a goalie can't put a team on his back and get them to game 7 of SCF? YEAH RIGHT! that was EPIC!!!
for me, though, the most important game was that game 4 in Detroit in 2007... that was the game after which the Champion was clear. it was Anaheim!!! thanks to it's goalie AGAIN putting the team on his back and getting them to OT...
and i hope to see #35 hanging from Honda ceiling one day. that's the only right way smile.gif

good luck in Toronto! now they are "gettin' Jiggy wid it"
to many though you are a Duck no matter what colors you are wearing

Thank you for all the memories we got to share over the years, whether it be the incredible Cup run in 2003 with a team that was playing well-above their actual talent thanks to you, or for the 2007 Stanley Cup win. You definitely won't be forgotten here in Anaheim and I guess I'm speaking for everyone when I say that you're the Franchise Goalie. It's sad to see you being shipped out like that, but I guess it was best for you and the team in a way. Carlyle burned you in the past two seasons and you never got a legitimate shot at re-gaining the #1 spot after the Cup win. I hope your family -and especially your son- will have a good time in Toronto. At least I do know they have a world-class "hospital for sick children" in downtown T.O., so your son should be in good hands there.

Writing this, I realize I never saw you play, because you were injured during the games in London and Bryz was in net for you and Hiller played in the game after that. What a blow.

QUOTE
“J.S. is as classy and professional as they come,” Ducks general manager Bob Murray said. “On behalf of the organization, we thank him for his tremendous contributions for the franchise both on and off the ice, not the least of which were two trips to the Stanley Cup final and one championship. We wish him well in Toronto.”

Jiggy, remember this please. The non bandwagon fans NEVER gave up on you. We will miss you, I hope for nothing but the best for you and your family, (Toronto Sick Kids Hospital is a terrific place, you child will get great care there. I know I got good care there.)
I hope that when you play us next season, you shut us out, and hiller gives up like 10 goals. Its a horribly unclassy way for the team to have let you go, but you're a stand up guy who will find a way to rise above it.

Good luck man.

I didn't think I could ever be as attached to a player as a fan. And I'm not an extremely emotional person to begin with.

But I can't even control myself, I am actually crying at this departure.

J.S. Giguere the BEST and most beloved goaltender in the history of the Mighty Anaheim Ducks... gone.

We've been through so much in a fan to player relationship. He had to be something to take over Guy Hebert's spot in Ducks' fans hearts, and he was.

We reveled in your accomplishments from the absolutely STELLAR 2003 Stanley Cup Finals run, the Conn Smythe, the 2007 Western Finals against Detroit, and of course the 2007 Stanley Cup, and then on knocking down franchise record after franchise record and even an All-Star appearance. Even the occasional fight with Ryan Smyth ( laugh.gif )

We were ALL behind you when your son had his eye-problems at birth, after your father's death, and all your struggles with Carlyle's short leash and the final goaltending battle with Jonas Hiller. Not to say that Hiller didn't deserve it, but we all pulled for you to get back on the horse.

One of the absolute classiest athletes and people I have met and in the history of Anaheim sports.

You are loved and will be missed sorely Jiggy.

Hopefully one day you will come back, not in an opposing uniform, but in a fancy suit, an orange tie, and that same ol' Jiggy demeanor to watch the #35 raised to the rafters in plain sight of what you've brought to the franchise.

Goodbye Jean Sebastien Giguere... one of our best...

Oh and my indelible moment of J.S. Giguere....

Thank you for being my favorite and for being the reason that I am a Ducks fan. Greatest goalie in franchise history; two stanley cup runs, one with a conn smythe and one with a cup. Through everything that happened, so much adversity, he always was someone I could admire and love. Thank you for everything. I wish him all the best in Toronto back with Francois Allaire because I know he can do it. And Toronto right now is a lot closer to New York then Anaheim is so hopefully I can see him play live a few more times. Always be a Duck and I hope to some day see #35 raised to the Honda Center Rafters. Thank you.

i kinda saw this coming, but wow i have never felt like this after trading a player. (a tear just rolled down my cheek)

Now we have no members remaining from the '03 cinderella team (more tears)

Jiggy has been nothing but a class act in all his years in anaheim. jiggy carried this team in '03 and played a huge role in '07 especially that game 5 in detroit, if we didn't win that game i don't think we would have a stanley cup today. He's a warrior as he battled through personal and physical difficulties.

I'll still remember those spectacular saves and overtime heroics, he's one of the main reasons i fell in love with this team and its hard to see him go, but this move means he will be able to play and get to prove that he is still a #1 goalie. I wish him nothing but the best of luck in toronto.

THANK YOU JIGGY FOR ALL THE MEMORIES AND ALL THAT YOU HAVE GIVEN THIS FRANCHISE!!!

We will miss you!

Thanks for the memories Jiggy... You will be remembered as the greatest goalie we ever had for a long time to come. Although I am sad to see you go, I do believe that the change of scenery will help you to get back to the top of your game (except when you play against us rolleyes.gif ... You are a class act and even through the difficult last 2 years you have always behaved in a professional manner. Toronto might be a good place for you to get back your mojo because for them the only way is up!!!

Giguere's one of my favorite players of all time. Backstopping that 03 team to the finals behind a defense of Carney, Ozolinsh, Salei....That was one of the greatest post-season performances we'll ever see by an individual.

Thanks for all the memories, the good times I had with my dad watching the team win, you were a big part of that. I'll never forget it.
