QUOTE
In that first U.S.-Switzerland game, Ducks winger Bobby Ryan provided one of the goals against his Anaheim teammate. "I certainly won't mind putting another one behind him," Ryan said.
...
"I told him I'm going to stop him the next time and he's not going to get any presents like the first game," said Hiller.
...
"We want to play a game like we did against Canada," Hiller said. "It's not going to be a 5-5 score. We've got to keep the stakes down.

"The longer the game will go with a tight score, the better for us. At the end they have to win. We can win."

I thought there was an announcement that they were moving the USA/SUI game to NBC and showing it at Noon Pacific. Why would they tape delay it to 3?

Ratings for the Westcoast. Which is stupid since they didn't care about the ratings for USA vs Canada.

That's counter-intuitive...

Who is going to be watching a tape delayed USA-Sui when you know the result... Vs. watching Can/Rus Live on CNBC?

Then again this is the network who fired Conan.

I tend to think of it at the network that still employs Jay Leno. But lets not get into that subject.

NBC Couldn't care less about the west coast. I really get the feeling that they do the tape delay to us because they believe if the east coast has it at 3 o'clock, then the west coast has to have it at that time.

They probably think 2 hockey games are too much for the non hockey fans. Who knows. All I know is their Olympic coverage in general has been extremely poor.

On a side note.. I usually get home around 3 so I will watch the tape delayed USA / Swiss game (without knowing the outcome since it will make watching it much more interesting) and record the Canada Russia game to watch directly after.

I agree however, those without a DVR are probably going to watch live action.

I like to think of it as the network that keeps "talent" like Keith Olbermann, judgment isnt their strong suit.

Im kinda bummed ill be missing the USA game but honestly dont think its going to be too close of a game, but knowing Hiller he will have a HUGE game and keep with swiss in it for a while.

Unfortunately I see Canada losing this one to Russia, and then getting boo'd by their home country as they skate off the ice. Just not a favorable matchup for them.

The Czechs looked pretty piss poor vs Latvia last night, I think the Finns can outplay them and come out with a win. I hope our Finn Twins can produce some good chemistry and get some good mojo going. Would be nice to see Teemu get a goal.

Sweeds looks to have an easy one vs Slovakia but if they take it lightly it could get real interesting real fast.

yeah, if your cable company doesn't suck like mine(Time Warner) and blame the inability to login on NBC who sucks as well and blames it on Time Warner.

Todrick what browser are you using? I have Time Warner and found that I can only get the connection to work on Firefox. But, when you do get the feed it's jerky because of all of the West Coast hockey fans who wouldn't want to watch the game at Noon because.......wait? Why?

I'm still not convinced that they won't show the hockey game at Noon. Hope burns eternal.....

i want Hiller to have an outstanding game but USA to win
so let it be 1-0 in regulation on Bobby's goal... keep it in the family, Ducks biggrin.gif
and no reason to go in OT... Hiller needs some rest... he already has played the most minutes out of all in the Olympics...

Go Hiller! The Swiss are looking great to start the game but we'll see if fatigue becomes a factor with the U.S. getting the extra day off.

I'm torn too, I'm starting to become a huge Hiller fan. I did buy this shirt though, can't wait until it comes.

for those like me who can't login due to technical errors....

KING TV in Seattle "get's it" they have apparently provided a back door link to the stream on their website.

Tell me if it works for you... the firewall here at the office hates it, but it appears to error out PAST the login screen
