The Ducks have assigned defenceman Brendan Mikkelson to the Toronto of the American Hockey League and goaltender Timo Pielmeier to development affiliate Bakersfield. - Orange County Register

Patrice Bergeron hurt his knee during the Olympics and will not play against Montreal. Also, Byron Bitz will likely be a scratch. Tuukka Rask will start in goal for Boston. - TSN

David Moss and Nigel Dawes returned from injury just before the break. Craig Conroy and Rene Bourque look ready for a return. - TSN

With defenceman Kyle Cumiskey still suffering from concussion symptoms, Avs coach Joe Sacco elected to play John-Michael Liles and Ruslan Salei on Monday and scratch rookie Ryan Wilson. - Denver Post
