TSN's Ice Chips
Forward Patrice Bergeron took part in the club's optional morning skate on Thursday, but didn't play against the Leafs because of his groin injury. He's still considered day-to-day. - Boston Globe
The Sabres, who are 2-6-2 in their last 10 games, won't be able to call up top prospect Tyler Ennis for a while, as he's not expected to play this Sunday in the AHL because of a mild concussion. - Buffalo News
Newly acquired defenceman Steve Staios will be in the lineup this evening, skating with Jay Bouwmeester. - TSN
Milan Hejduk missed Thursday's game with back spasms. Darcy Tucker left the game in the second period after being hit in the face with a stick. - Denver Post

Forward Byron Bitz who was acquired from the Bruins at the trade deadline was at practice on Thursday, and is expected to play Saturday against Carolina. Nathan Horton will not be ready for Saturday though. He's still recovering from his broken leg.- Miami Herald
