G Dany Sabourin, who cleared re-entry waivers at Friday's noon deadline, will serve as Tim Thomas's backup on Saturday against the Islanders while Tuukka Rask remains sidelined because of a knee injury. The Predators lost D Shea Weber to an upper-body injury in the first period on Friday, though the injury might not be too serious. Weber is scheduled to be re-evaluated Saturday, and both he and head coach Barry Trotz left open the possibility that Weber could play Sunday. - Nashville Tennessean

Head Coach Jacques Lemaire said he will consider putting Martin Skoula in the lineup Sunday in Edmonton if the newly-acquired defenceman's conditioning is OK. - Star Ledger

Several Ottawa players are battling the flu, so the team recalled F Zack Smith from Binghamton (AHL) for Saturday's game against Toronto. Head Coach Cory Clouston wouldn't announce his starting goalie. - TSN

Darroll Powe and Oskars Bartulis (groin) will be available Sunday against visiting Toronto, head coach Paul Holmgren said. The hip surgery on Ray Emery is tentatively set for April 8, although there is a chance it will be moved up, according to Holmgren. - Philadelphia Inquirer

If Bill Guerin does play Saturday, he will skate on a line with center Sidney Crosby and winger Chris Kunitz. If he cannot, newly acquired winger Alexei Ponikarovsky may share shifts on lines centered by both Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. - Tribune Review

Well that was not the best period of hockey, more like a bunch of kids pretending to be wrestlers or boxers. Both the Leafs and the Sens were just as bad as each other IMHO. Hopefully we'll get back to the hockey in the second period as the hissy fits get very boring.
