Evander Kane will have a CT scan taken of his injured left foot on Tuesday. Injury and playing-status updates will come following the test, a team official said. Kane injured the foot blocking a shot early in Saturday’s game at Tampa Bay. He left and didn't return. He missed Sunday’s game against Carolina because of the injury, only the second game he’s missed all season. Kane is wearing a walking boot and using crutches. The boot is similar to one worn by former teammate Ilya Kovalchuk earlier this season when he suffered a broken foot and missed three weeks. - Atlanta Journal Constitution
Head coach Claude Julien said that D Zdeno Chara has a lower body injury and will not play tonight. - TSN
General Manager Peter Chiarelli said on Tuesday that Marc Savard could be done for the season. Savard was diagnosed with a grade-2 concussion after being hit by Pittsburgh's Matt Cooke on Sunday. - TSN
G Tuukka Rask, out the last two games because of swelling in his right knee, was one of four Bruins to skate on Monday. Rask originally injured the knee three years ago in Finland while wrestling with friends, requiring surgery to repair the meniscus. Rask said he tweaked the knee last week while walking. With Rask back to full strength, Dany Sabourin was assigned to Providence. Sabourin backed up Tim Thomas against the Islanders and Penguins. - Boston Herald
Forward Adam Burish is expected to make his season debut Wednesday after recovering from preseason knee surgery. - Chicago Tribune
Veteran winger Darcy Tucker missed practice Monday with an unspecified illness. Right wing David Jones (torn anterior cruciate ligament) does not have a timetable on a return, coach Joe Sacco said. Jones has been doing off-ice workouts, but he has not skated with the team since his injury. - Denver Post
Derick Brassard returned to the lineup last night after missing the previous two games because of an infection in his left hand. Brassard burned the hand while he was repairing a stick between periods of the Feb. 14 game against Chicago. - Columbus Dispatch
Craig Weller, one of the players acquired from the Bruins for Dennis Seidenberg last week, is on loan to the Chicago Wolves because the Panthers' AHL affiliate in Rochester was at the maximum limit for veterans. - Miami Herald
Cal Clutterbuck, who left Sunday's game because of a charley horse, received treatment Monday and is listed as day-to-day. Derek Boogaard will sit out the second game of a two-game suspension tonight. Boogaard was disciplined for a knee-to-knee hit on Edmonton's Ryan Jones. - Pioneer Press
F Mike Cammalleri skated on his own for the second time and D Marc-Andre Bergeron did the same for the fifth time. However, head coach Jacques Martin doesn't have an estimate for when either would be ready to start practicing with the team yet, saying he hopes to have them back in the lineup within the next two weeks. - TSN
The Predators will be without defenceman Denis Grebeshkov for at least one to two weeks because of a lower-body injury he suffered in Sunday's loss to Vancouver. He apparently was hurt early in the game and tried to play through it. - Nashville Tennessean
Dean McAmmond, who missed the final two periods Sunday with numbness in his left shoulder after taking a hit to the head from Zack Stortini, didn’t have to practice, but he skated. He expects to be able to play Wednesday against the Rangers. Paul Martin (broken forearm) did not practice, but coach Jacques Lemaire said he expects Martin will return shortly. - Star Ledger
Blake Comeau, who left Saturday's loss after he was checked from behind by Boston's Michael Ryder, practiced for about 20 minutes yesterday, but did not make the trip because of a sore back. Trevor Gillies was recalled from Bridgeport to take Comeau's place. - New York Post
Brian Elliott will start in goal on Tuesday in Edmonton against the Oilers. - TSN
Mathieu Schneider, recuperating from knee surgery, could be activated next week. He skated in what coach Dave Tippett called "heavy traffic" Monday, going hard in two-on-two drills and reported no problems. Centre Robert Lang (lower-body injury) did not practice and remains day to day. - Arizona Republic
Bill Guerin was back on the ice at Monday's optional practice and appears ready to play on Thursday against the Hurricanes. Guerin has missed the past three games with back spasms. - Post Gazette
Scott Nichol (shoulder) was back on the ice practicing with his teammates Monday. He said he felt good enough to skate and shoot the puck, but stopped short of taking part in any contact drills. The Sharks haven't specified the extent of Nichol's shoulder injury, but coach Todd McLellan initially said he thought the pesky center, who is the NHL's top faceoff artist and helps on the penalty kill, might miss seven to 10 days. - Mercury News
F Ryan Malone will miss Tuesday's game in Montreal with an upper-body injury. - RDS
Mikhail Grabovski is expected to return to the lineup on Tuesday when the Leafs host the Boston Bruins. - TSN
Head coach Ron Wilson said on Tuesday that D Fredrik Sjostrom will be "out for a couple of weeks". - TSN
Tomas Fleischmann was a healthy scratch Monday because Bruce Boudreau said the wingers was fatigued from the Olympics and could benefit from a day off. Boudreau also scratched Shaone Morrisonn after the defenceman's turnover Saturday that nearly led to a goal for the New York Rangers. - Washington Post
