Actually the fact we will probably miss the playoffs actually helps this year.

One thing is for sure. We will NOT be sitting in 417 anymore. There are some annoying Ducks fans who don't know what they are talking about half the time. I don't mind cheering for the Ducks (I like it in fact), but don't advertise how little you know about hockey or be loud just to be annoying.

Is it a pain to sell your seats when you can't go?

It is right now.... there is next to zero demand.
When the team is doing well, it's not too bad.

My seats were excellent, front row seats. IMO, best value in the house.
I did not renew my seats beginning this season because it was the best way I could send a message to the Samuelis that the way the franchise is being handled from the GM down is not acceptable to me. The huge drop in customer relations and service from Burke to Murray, along with an increasingly underachieving and frustrating product on the ice that was not keeping up with the direction the league is headed in its entertainment value, were the specifics that I informed Bob Murray of by email... and never heard back.
I tried to sell all my regular season tickets last season for minimum price (except for some I gave away), and only had two games for which they were taken... both for an opponent that I will not mention, because it chaps my hide. That only nailed my belief that the Ducks fanbase, and revenue source, is shrinking.
I voted "I am a STH who will NOT be renewing" because I think that fits my situation best, and most accurately reflects information that I believe is critical to this franchise.
Note: Not buying season seats has not prevented me from attending Ducks games and supporting the team. At the same time, not giving money to the franchise 7 months in advance, at a time that just precedes the most important important decision-making juncture of the year, allows me to cover more bases than just sending my money in and enabling those I see as the reason we've backslidden... rapidly. I want the Samuelis and Michael Schulman to have a clear message to pass along to their underlings at a time where something can be done about it.

Redwings.
I think there are more Wings fans than Ducks fans in OC.

Anyone who came through the Kariya years still a STH and still a fan has little right to complain in my book. Bob Murray has been working his ass off to have us recover from the Stanley Cup win, the "semi-retirements", the Bert/Schneider fiasco and the Burke departure. I think he's got to change the way he's doing things, but I respect the effort and I respect how diffiicult it is to make the playoffs every single year, to try not to lose a ton of money and remain competetive.
I LOVE the style they play. I don't care if the rest of the NHL plays different, the fact is half of the NHL with whatever style they play, is missing the playoffs. And 29 teams are losing this year.
It's been a fantastic 10 years of hockey in Anaheim. 80 some playoff games. The first West Coast Cup. They have my support after the first playoff miss in 5 years. I've renewed already. I've got really good seats, the same since 1993. If I didn't give them up in the '90's I'm not giving them up now.
And fan support works both ways. Bailing on them when they are down can be seen as "sending a message", or it can be seen as "jumping ship". I think the Samuelli's have been PERFECT in the way they treat the fans. Investing in the team, letting HOCKEY people run it and valuing WINNING over having Wild Wing fly down before every game. Thank God for the Samuelli's.

I'll echo these sentiments....without having nearly the track record.
I "joined" the team post lockout, (about 1/2 way through the 2005-6 season), so have only known success.
I have renewed our seats because I love going to the games. I think there is a core here that may need to grow up a little, and needs a few parts to make it a real TEAM, but I like what the team could be, and I want to be there to see it.
In the end, every season is a crap shoot. Sometimes you get 2003, and improbable success, sometimes you get 2010 and unexpected disappointment.
And sometimes, if you're very lucky, there is 2007. Missing that would have been a shame.

Now with that said, i will be messing with my account rep and telling him I am not sure if I will re-up until I see if there are any changes in the organization or team but in reality I will if I can.

It helps greatly that the Ducks are my favorite professional sports team in any league (Love them just as much as my Yankees but the Ducks get the tiebreaker in part because i've been with them since they were "born"), and I feel treated very well by Honda Center staff and team personnel, I have NO idea where some of you are getting the impression that the team does not know how to treat its fans because i've never experienced that. Granted I have experienced crap treatment at Angel games even though they are supposedly the most fan friendly franchise in all professional sports...

hahahahaahahah, well I shredded my renewal letter. Then laughed when I received the email reminder. IF I get a phone call, I will try to keep my laughter silent. Or maybe I will just let the call go to voicemail and not return it.
This is going to be weird not being a season ticket holder, but I will enjoy having $5000 plus each year I spent going to Ducks games.

But you were not a Ducks' fan you were/are a JSG fan. Regardless of the conditions of his leaving you'd follow him wherever
Others here are not renewing because of the rest of the team and the poor management. There is a difference.

I think it would send the owners the message that we won't tolerate pizz poor management. The only thing that talks in business is $$$. If the fans aren't spending the $$ then the brass might figure it out and make changes for the better. I really don't want to be like a Leaf fan and accept a sucky team when we have so much talent.

I agree.
20rules.. I understand you do not want to send a message that we are willing to support a "sucky" team. However, one year does not constitue pulling the rug out on the organization. The Samueli did not have a fire sale at the trade deadline and the Ducks are looking good for the immediate
The team is not going on a 3-5 year rebuilding plan. If the team continues to be a bottom feeder like the Kings in the last 7 season I would totally understand not sinking money into something that doesn't give back.
The Ducks are a class organization and as long as I can afford them I will be keeping my tickets.

It's been more than one yr. Yes, we did scrape our way into the playoffs last season, but it was a very weak showing.

Ummmm - Game 7 of the 2nd round is not a weak showing. You can be frustrated at barely getting in but once the Ducks qualified you seriously cannot say they didn't have a good run.
I guess everyone has their own level of what is acceptable.
IMO opinion the cup has made some fans very fickel and on the boarded of bandwagonism.

imo it was a weak showing. Yes, I have higher expectations. No, I'm NOT fickle. Look how long I've been a fan.
> bandwagonism
Again, my expectations are higher since winning the SC. Why wouldn't they be? That's not bandwagonism.
