I'm surprised he picked the Ducks, considering he's got offensive talent.

Jake is listed on the Ducks Roster... not as "in the system" on the Ducks Website. Could this be a sign that they might give him a shot in th big club?

why do you always have such a problem if things are discusssed in multiple topics, while you don't comment on the topic, yourself

DK is only pointing out that there is a place for certain topics and that there is no need to have more than one thread discusing the same thing...keeps things organized and easier to look through..

Seems very mature for 21, could be a nice addition to the other young Defensemen we have entering the league.

Just doing my part to reinforce the fact that Carlyle hates offense.
Contrary to what his backers try to force us to believe.

Yep, Carlyle's the reason Getzlaf only scored 91 points last year. LOL.

I prefer to keep the boards clean and not multiple topic for the same thing
OT - Does ANYONE know if he can play or just workout with the team?

Yes, it is.

I love how everyone talks about this, but Andy Mac, Ebbett, and Kunitz have all either failed to surpass their production in Anaheim or been even worse. Morrison also falls into this category, except when he was playing with Ovechkin.
For all the times people bring up Carlyle as holding players back offensively, there really isn't much evidence to support that claim.

mostly because ex-ducks have a tendency to score on the ducks when they play against each other..

Heh, yeah. But that kind of thing happens to a lot of teams, I think. At least, based on what I see around the NHL. Announcers bring it up a lot. There just seems to be something about playing your old team. Players get up for it.

Unfortunately I don't know what kind of game he plays now, so we'll have to wait until he either plays a game or is assigned.

And does that mean he gets to practice with the team?

Also, consider that they signed Newton to a 3-year contract. Does it make sense to do that so late in the season if this season counted as one of the seasons? That would be a huge waste of a year.
