I wouldn't mind seeing him play another year(duh?). He would be a good reason to emphasize three scoring lines, because I don't think he consistently plays like a top six forward anymore. I do, however, think he should see a lot of PP time to help make up for that.

It's all kinds of awesome that he potted #600. What an unbelievable achievement.

I've come to terms with him leaving. If he comes back, that would be awesome.

His achievements and stuff... The best Olympic hockey player in points, the best current scorer of the NHL, rookie scoring record, rookie goal scoring record, numerous Ducks recoreds... He is an idol.

But he is fantastic person. I had a pleasure to meet him on my NHL trip to see ducks.gif @ van.png ... And my kid was last year at his summer camp. Teemu is painted on his helmet. His favourite phrase after somebody scores on him (he is a goalie): "Yeah You might have been lucky on scoring on me, but I have made a save on Selanne shot..." Next week or so the campers list for this year will be announced and CK dreams of being again on it...

he is the greatest duck of all time. He is a hero of mine not only because of his play on the ice but his class off the ice. Teemu will always be #1 in the hearts of true ducks fans.

This is weak. Praising the guy the guy is one thing, but implying you can only be a true Anaheim fan if he's your guy? Come on, man. People have their favorites, and it has nothing to do with being a true Duck fan.

Very true. My top 5, and you can blast me if you want: Selanne, "you know who", Giguere, Pahlsson and Hebert.

Congrats to Teemu. It will be a sad day when he finally leaves, but the Ducks and ice hockey in general have benefited greatly from his presence on and off the ice. A true legend!

What a special moment, and what a special human being. He's been a joy (and sometimes a frustration) to watch over the years. What a milestone!

Wow, really?

So I'm not a "True" Ducks fan because my #1 favorite player of all time is Jari Kurri?

Yup, makes a ton of sense.

That said, I am anxiously awaiting Teemu dethroning my favorite player, because, to be honest, if anyone has to do it... I'm glad it's Teemu. I think Jari would agree.

I can not imagine the NHL without Selanne.

He has been my favorite player since his rookie season.

The next season I became a Ducks fan.

When he became a Duck, I had to pinch myself. When he was traded away from the Ducks, I tried to only remember the good times, like breaking up with a girlfriend, and not dwell on the bitterness of the split. I had a team to root for.

The day he came back made it all good again, and seeing him lift the Cup as a Duck was all I'll ever need as a hockey/Ducks fan. Everything after is gravy.

In 2003, as all Ducks fans took that thrill ride that was the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the only thing that nagged at me was that Teemu should be here for this.

2006-2007 was it for me, hence my user name.

At 39, Selanne continues to amaze
QUOTE
“It was bad luck to have a beard,” Selanne said. ”Maybe feel too old or something. Got to change a little bit. It worked.”

Whatever works. The fact is Selanne, who’ll be 40 in July, continues to show that he’s still a viable and dangerous player even as he strongly considers to end his illustrious career. Even as he’s dealt with two major injuries in one of his toughest seasons, Selanne still has 21 goals and has scored 148 of those 600 after turning 35.

Please come back next year Teemu! I can't really ever remember a time watching hockey that you weren't playing. I have a feeling he might give it one more go. I still remember him at the Artesia Ice Palace when he was talking about next season. He says he only thinks one year at a time and that he wouldn't start worrying about next season until this off-season. Rest up dude and come back for one more! If he has played this well with all of his injuries, I could picture a 30+ goal season next year.

Congrats on 600!

Congrats to the Finnish Flash on 600. What he has been able to achieve in his time on the ice is nothing short of brilliant. One more thing he has to do before he hangs em up and thats to pass his childhood idol on the all time scoring list.

I will always remember where i was when he scored 600. At the Honda Center section 415 second in line waiting to order a beer. Damnit. smile.gif

There was a reason I was in a hurry to get back when I bumped into you in line...

I sat down in my seat as the Puck dropped on the 2nd...

JUST. MADE. IT.
