Milan Lucic and Marco Sturm have combined for 20 shots with zero points in the series against the Sabres. Head coach Claude Julien had the two left wingers skate on new lines at practice Sunday. Sturm had been playing with David Krejci and Miroslav Satan, but was back with Patrice Bergeron and Mark Recchi on Sunday. Lucic practiced on the Krejci and Satan line. "Those guys played together before," Julien said about Sturm and Bergeron. "We've moved guys around all year. There's not a ton of reasons behind it more than they're familiar faces. Just felt it was time to try that out for today. We'll see what we decide [in Game 6 on Monday]." - Boston Globe

Marc Savard is hoping to get final medical clearance after this morning skate on Monday, but it is very doubtful he would play in Game 6 on Monday. The forward wants to play, but he'll accept any decision the team makes. "There's not much I can do besides work hard and be ready to go when (coach Claude Julien) tells me," Savard told reporters. "The guys are playing well, so I'm not going to cause any kind of scene about wanting to get in the lineup. But obviously everyone wants to get in the lineup. That's the nature of it. But condition-wise, I felt better again. If you ask me? Yeah, I can play. But in the same sense, I have to do what's best for the team and I'm a team guy. So if it's me watching another one, that's what it's going to be." - Boston Herald

On Monday morning Head coach Lindy Ruff said Thomas Vanek is "likely" for Game 6, but is not a sure thing. The Sabres are facing elimination down 3-2 to the Bruins. Vanek has been battling an ankle injury. - TSN

The team's penalty-killing units are a perfect 21-for-21 over the five games of the Nashville series. - Daily Herald Times

Peter Mueller sat out the entire series against the Sharks because of a concussion. Milan Hejduk who also sustained a concussion in Game 3 of the series also suffered a shoulder injury that will require treatment during the off-season. - Denver Post

P.K. Subban has been called up from Hamilton of the AHL. It is possible that head coach Jacques Martin will scratch Mathieu Darche and use Subban as a seventh defenceman. During pre-game warmups, Subban was partnering with Roman Hamrlik. Taylor Pyatt, Glen Metropolit and Marc-Andre Bergeron skated on the fourth line. - TSN

Jaroslav Spacek, did not practice with the club on Sunday. He's still out because of illness. - TSN

Patric Hornqvist (upper body) will be a game-time decision for Monday night's game against the Blackhawks. - Tennessean

Daniel Alfredsson said he had a sports hernia during the playoffs and will have surgery within the next 10 days. Recovery time is 4-6 weeks. He said it happened prior to the Olympics, but he said it didn't really affect him until after the games in Vancouver. - TSN

General manager Paul Holmgren confirmed Ian Laperriere suffered a non-displaced fracture of the orbital bone as a result of getting hit with a slap shot last Thursday in Game 5 against the Devils. Holmgren added that "hell would freeze over" before Laperriere would miss a game. - Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News

Head coach Dave Tippett said captain Shane Doan (upper-body) will be a game-time decision on Monday. Even though he could not be on the ice, Doan was a factor in Game 6 against the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday. The veteran forward spoke to the Coyotes between periods. "It was huge," said Radim Vrbata. "He kept us going. Just his presence in the dressing room helps this team." - Arizona Republic

Coach Bruce Boudreau hopes Eric Belanger will be able to play on Monday, after losing eight teeth to a high stick during Friday's game against the Canadiens. - Washington Post
