Mark your calendars! June 27, Sunday, is the annual Select-A-Seat.

Also, starting May 3, Monday, season seat renewals can redeem their voucher (mailed with your season ticket renewal statement) for the "limited edition photo of our 2010 Olympic Medalists" at Honda Center administrative offices. You can also wait til Select-A-Seat, but that will be the last day to pick up the photo.

How about not letting letting people who don't have season tickets into fanfest this year since it makes for longer lines. I thought this was a privilege of having season tickets.

I need to vent!

How about instead of announcing to the world that you're giving out free food (hot dogs etc.) just have the SC celebration inside so more people (actual fans & not moochers) can attend? I had several students tell me they only showed up for the food and they don't give a rat's patoot about hockey. I got turned away b/c the place was full. As you can imagine I was NOT HAPPY w/those rats!

You only need the ticket at fanfest for the food. They don't check at the door, despite it being a "season seat holder only" event. Me? I can't sneak into those things any more - they know I'm not supposed to be there.

Thinking about making this my first Select a seat........

How does it work? I know I want seats that fall into the buy 2 get 2 free. Is it literally a race to the open seats? I know most previous season ticket holders keep the same seats, Can I see pre select a seat what seats are avaiable? So I dont run to the wrong spot and miss out on something better?

Any help, thanks in advance

If this is going to be your very first Select-A-Seat, then your appointment to pick your season seats will be at the end of the day after all the returning season seat holders have upgraded, downgraded, side-graded, added, subtracted, or stayed. Perhaps your preferred section of buy-2-get-2-free might not have anything you like, or you might get lucky and time it just right to find some seats that just opened up. So there's really not a need to "run" to find your seats unless everyone else in your time slot is vying for same ones. If you're patient, you can hang around for a few time slots (although the last time slot is at a disadvantage in this strategy) to see if anything opens up in the sections you're interested in. You can try putting your name on a wait list for a certain area, but don't count on getting it.

anyone interested in splitting buy 2 get 2. I am more then likely going to the Select A Seat on Sunday and might upgrade to Buy 2 get 2 in the 431-436 at the top or 409 to 414 at the top.
Let me know!

Guess this is as good a place as any....although, it contains much more than "season seats" information.

I'm just back from our select-a-seat period, and have some information:

- Honda Center is making a big push to upgrade the food at the Pond. No great specifics, but they are trying to get more "branded" retailers in the place. Opening day for hockey is the grand unveiling.

- KDOC will likely carry more games next season....BUT, they will be HD by then! "The way hockey is meant to be seen", according to Hazy.

- From Bob on the players front:
-- Felt VERY lucky to get what we got on draft day. "Lucky" was the word used more than once.
-- Wis and the team are far apart. He's expecting that arbitration is the route it's headed. Basic disconnect between what Wis and his agent see as his role and ability vs. what the team sees. Not a shock to hear that.
-- Actually fairly close with Bobby. Reitterated the 5 year, $20-$25 mil contract offer we have heard about. Thinks they can work it out, but doesn't feel particularly pressured by the July 1st date. "If he signs an offer sheet, we'll match it, and then make life difficult for whichever team made the offer." (Paraphrasing).
-- An offer has been made to Saku.
-- Has talked to Teemu's agent (same agent as Saku), and says Teemu is probably waiting to see what the team does....while the team is interested in what Teemu does. "We've been down this road before..." Not sure that Saku and Teemu are joined-at-the-hip, but senses that having Saku under contract might help.
-- Not looking to spend to the cap, but doesn't want to go the Chicago-Pittsburgh route where you stink for 3 or 4 years, and draft your way out of trouble. Knows there is a basic disconnect in the team where the young forwards are ready to go, and the young defense is still building. "Once we are ready to contend for the cup, we'll gladly do something, (like bringing in a Pronger type guy), to make that happen." Right now, it's a building phase without having to tear it down, was my understanding.

-News on the 3rd jersey: They are open for pre-orders, but are not showing them off yet. (We ordered ours....Why not? smile.gif) Kent French says HE looks good in them, so what's not to like?
- "And since you are season ticket holders, we'll tell you this...." (Non STH please stop reading). biggrin.gif "...They will be unveiled and used for the first time on November 26th, day after Thanksgiving, home game against Chicago." (Corrected date from original post)

- No Q&A session took place, but Bob invited anyone over who had questions or comments. I'm guessing Bob isn't nearly as comfortable with public questioning as Burkie was....

And that's my report. I know full well I probably forgot something important and/or interesting, so please ask if you want to know if other topics were covered. And other STH please add what you recall from your sessions.

On a personal note, the wife and I FINALLY got ourselves moved to the "Ducks shoot twice" end of the rink. The type of seats we always look for have always been booked at that end, but the "fair weather" fans have finally opened up a spot for us. We're stoked for the new season!!!

Nope. Not mentioned.

In fact, no great detail on what defensive plans are in the works. Not shocking, since you would expect that to be an internal plan for now. No sense telling the rest of the world who you might be targeting in free agency, (if anyone).

-Something I did forget. Bob did discuss the Brown trade. Much like the story we've heard in the press, "Bodie, Brownie, and Parros are all right wingers, and none of them played well on the left side. We will get a left winger to do what Brown could do, and balance the team better." (Paraphrasing again).

I asked him at the morning session... No talks, and he added that Ward wants to play back East. I also asked him about buying out Blake... he said you never want to buy out a player but anything can happen. I forgot to ask him about Lupul's return (kicks self).

Otherwsie 'Ducks Newbie' pretty much covered it all.

3rd jersey prices are a joke. I forgot how much the authentics were, but the replicas were $145 which is about normal. The kicker here is that they jacked up the personalization prices. $100 for pressed and $125 for stitched. Use to be $65 for pressed and $85 for stitched. I guess the good thing about this whole day was the new food we are getting. Fresh chinese food, philly cheesesteak, and blue water grill restaurant getting a spot at the pond as well. PS, people in the terrace, our seats have yet to get the new padding they promised us last year.
