TSN's Ice Chips

The Bruins held an optional skate on Monday with only a handful of players on the ice. Defenceman Dennis Seidenberg (lacerated tendon in his left forearm) did take part in the skate. - TSN

Forward Daniel Carcillo took part in practice and will be a game-time decision for Game 5 against the Boston Bruins on Monday after reportedly injuring his knee hitting Zdeno Chara in Game 4. If Carcillo can't play, Kalinski will get the call. - TSN

GM Paul Holmgren said goalie Michael Leighton would be an option as a backup in Monday's Game 5. Recovering from a high ankle sprain, Leighton has yet to suit up for the playoffs. - Philadelphia Inquirer

Head coach Mike Babcock revealed following the 2-1 loss to the Sharks in Game 5 that defenceman Brad Stuart had damaged his MCL when he was hit by San Jose defenceman Rob Blake in the first period of Game 4. - Detroit Free Press

Both Andrei Markov (knee) and Paul Mara (shoulder) skated on their own in full equipment before the team skate on Monday morning, but Markov is definitely out for tonight's game. During the team skate, there were only six defencemen on the ice -- Bergeron, O'Byrne, Hamrlik, Subban, Spacek and Gorges. Forward Sergei Kostitsyn also skated with the team. Hal Gill skated on his own after the team skate. He will take the warmup tonight and will be a game-time decision. Spacek is also a game-time decision. - TSN

Sami Salo walked off the plane without a noticeable limp. Head coach Alain Vigneault and all players who talked are saying Salo is day-to-day. Lawrence Nycholat will play on Tuesday - not Aaron Rome - if Salo is out of the lineup. - TSN
