urgh... its tough
i don't care about CHicago but i dislike SJ... with all that's going on in the east Sharks are in jeopardy of losing their "choker" name... i almost want them to win and go to SCF to face, say, Habs, win first 3 games and then fall in game 7... now that will be choking... losing to #2 seed in conference finals... not so much

and it's as hard in the east but for different reasons. i sympathize with both teams there... both have "Cinderella" written all over them. one has my counrtrymen and another has Captain Elbows
it's hard....

TSN's Ice Chips

Sergei Kostitsyn was on the ice with his teammates for the pre-game skate prior to the Eastern Conference finals opener with the Flyers on Sunday. He was asked to stay away from the team during the Canadiens second round victory over the Penguins. - TSN

The Blackhawks kept the same lines in practice Saturday that they used to defeat the Vancouver Canucks. Troy Brouwer skated on the second line meaning that Tomas Kopecky will likely be a healthy scratch for Game 1 against the Sharks. - Chicago Tribune

Injured forward Ian Laperriere skated with the Flyers on Saturday, but is no closer to returning to the lineup after suffering a concussion and a brain bruise against the Devils.
He says that he feels great but knows that team doctors will not clear him until he undergoes another MRI next week. - TSN

Sharks forward Jed Ortmeyer has been skating on his own the past two days as he continues to recover from a lower body injury. - San Jose Mercury News

Niemi was the story all afternoon inside the Shark Tank. He made one scintillating save after another to keep the Hawks in the game when it appeared they had no business being there.

Niemi wound up with 44 saves, including 12 over the final five-plus minutes of the second period, eight of which came on a two-minute Sharks' power play.

Before Byfuglien scored the winner, Niemi did the splits to stop a blast by Dany Heatley with his left pad 4:15 into the third period.

It was obvious from the start that Sharks coach Todd McLellan was trying to free his top line of Joe Thornton, Heatley and Marleau from the grasp of the Hawks' checking line of Dave Bolland, Andrew Ladd and Versteeg. It worked for the most part, but the Hawks also got a little discombobulated with all of the penalties.

Watching Philly play in their orange jerseys makes me really want the Ducks to get a third jersey that is orange. The orange out is sweet. I love it more than the white out or black out or rock the red or whatever. It pops so much.
