This season's "Payroll/Cap Numbers", and player status lists.

I love it! Thanks for this. Now I don't have to open another window to see the Ducks cap situation I can just check out this thread.

We'll know a lot more in a few weeks when the final cap number for the 2010-2011 season is released.

Until July 1st....

He's included just to be complete. I think it would be a complete shock to everyone if he was re-signed.

What most people are forgetting is that we are getting that 1.3 million back from that stupid Bertuzzi experiment.
So that helps out a lot with resigning Chipchura and a #6-7 Dman.

Thanks a lot DN! I hope you update this often, you did a great job.

This puts things in perspective for me. For example, Brookbank was actually good this year. We paid him minimum wage, so as long as he wasn't scoring on us then I say he wasn't too bad. I thought he was getting over a million for some reason.

Just did a quick update:

-Added Brandon McMillan's contract
-Added a "contract count".....currently 36 contracts of the 50 maximum are in effect for 2010-11
-General cleanup, including larger type size for those of us with aging eyes

Did some housekeeping that may be of interest/use:

- Added links for recent player status changes
- Added the Ducks "Rights Retained" players for reference, and I will add our new draft picks when they happen

Always looking for updated information if anyone has it. Some of the information is hard to keep track of for the "rights retained" players....

- Chipchura contract added.

- In order to avoid double listing players, and avoid the annoying "strikeout" text, have removed re-signed players form UFA/RFA lists, and added a "Players Lost" list

thanks for this, the players, just make it messy and confusing

also, have we heard any discussion of an 'Internal cap' this year?

That notion seems to have failed the last couple years and I think we can assume that missing the playoffs made no one in management happy.... wonder if there will even be an internal cap.

I haven't seen anything...certainly not anything with any $$ numbers attached.

And even if we did have a number, in the past we saw how difficult it is to really figure out how they do the accounting for an "internal cap". For one thing, signing bonuses (which we seldom hear much about, and are actually included as part of the year-to-year cap hit), may have actually been paid several years ago, and are therefore not counted by the team in their yearly budget. But we just don't know.

I think we can be certain that the Ducks, (and most teams), want to at least keep a couple million of the "NHL calculated cap" on the books for flexibility during the season. Beyond that, it's a lot of guessing....

To Whom It May Concern:

I'm out of town the early part of this week, so may be slow updating the cap calculations based on any "exciting news" that may pop up....and I'm hoping for some "exciting news". I should have time in the evenings. (Of course, CapGeek will always be there for you!)

Yeah....wrong news. sad.gif

On the update front:
CapGeek is reportedly using $59mil as a salary cap until the final number is announced. I will do the same in a few moments.

Final number has been included in the calculation.

And, an "oh, by the way".....

If you go to CapGeek, you will find them defaulting to a different player count and salary number for the Ducks than I'm publishing. That's because they are including Bonino on the roster.

Seems a wee bit pre-mature to me!

I'm trying to avoid such rash decisions......but after the first few days of free agency, (when hopefully we'll have a better idea who we have to pick from), I will attempt to fill out a roster of 14 forwards, 7 defenders, and 2 goaltenders. Best to live with an unfinished roster right now.....Because that's what we have.

$59.4 mil, ok cool but that doesnt mean anything other than, thats what we COULD go up to. The question that really matters is, What is the DUCKS cap?

We work with what we know....The internal budget will never be known by us. And as I mentioned earlier, even if a $$ number comes out, we still have no idea what math they use to calculate it.....
