Link is in french, but they don't say anything particular except the terms of the contract and his stats last year.

Pretty good signing.

Chipchura is giving it his all on every shift, having him around for 650k is a very good signing. Still, I'd like to get Bobby re-signed first and foremost. Time's growing stale, Mr. Murray. And to be honest, nobody would come after you if you just gave Bobby 6M/4years. I don't really see where the problem is in trying to re-sign him.

Great signing, Chippy is a very good role player and at 650 thats a hell of a deal.

and somehow this thread will turn into the sign Bobby thread....

Finding this $20 bill on the street is nice but I'd be happier if I had found a $100 bill instead. rolleyes.gif

I am very happy to have Kyle Chipchura signed and back on the Ducks for another season. Now that he knows what Randy Carlyle expects and he has developed some chemistry with his teammates I expect him to have a good season. For that price it's a no brainer - he's a perfect third/fourth pairing forward and I hope he's a Duck for many years to come.

Yep. I hope Kyle Chipchura turns out to be a Bob Murray type player too. To me Chipchura is the type of player that would have fit in perfectly on the 07 team. Solid in both ends, will drop the gloves, can score a clutch goal once in a while. He's a guy we need in the trenches. Him and Brookbank .. I don't want to get all homer and be excited about bit players here .. but these are the type of "hard to play against" guys we want.

It all means nothing if we don't figure out the second line and 3 of the 4 top defensive slots on the team though!

I guess we know that Bob has been in the office this week, at least.

(I kid.... biggrin.gif)

And I like this signing too. Good role player who may not achieve what Montreal thought he was going to be, (offensive, and future captain material), but he could maybe pot a dozen goals or so in a full season.

Actually he hasn't....

But at least he's been working the phone.

(read somewhere that he was back in Syracuse this week)

Kyle Chipchura & Sheldon Brookbank will combine to make just $1.4 million next season. Wow.

Sheldon Brookbank
Kyle Chipchura
Curtis McElhinney
Mike Brown
Troy Bodie
George Parros
Ryan Carter
Matt Beleskey
--------------------
$5,139,167 in 2010-2011

That's eight guys that will probably be on the Ducks roster on opening night, 40% of the Ducks on-ice roster, that combine to make less than $5.2 million. Granted, none of those are star players but for once the Ducks appear to be paying the third and fourth line forwards, and the third pairing defenseman, what they are worth instead of overpaying as they have in years past. Good value signings by Bob Murray and good use of the Ducks money.

I was thinking he could be the next Rob Niedermayer (both former 1st round picks) or Travis Moen. Either way that would be nice.
