I thought everyone would like to read a letter to the fans from NHLPA President Trevor Linden. My favorite part is were Trevor says fans could lose out on watching their star players play because players could be moved out of town by management trying to fit a team under a salary cap. Hey Trevor, that happens under the current system too. It's called a BUDGET. And the last time I checked a star player rarely gets moved unless the overpaid athlete bitches and moans about his organization. Then the player that wants out gets out. And the all the team’s fans that love him for his game lose out. Not the player. Not the owners. The fans. Few care if Joe Grinder gets moved due to the cap. And surprisingly it is Joe Grinder that is eating up too much salary, just look at Martin Lapointe.
There is so much in this letter to the fans you can tear apart. Take your turn. You’ll feel better.

I'm sick to death of both sides, they are heading into dangerous ground and could ruin our beloved sport.

A salary cap will produce "severe limits" to a players income? We wouldn't want to limit your millions...would we Trev!?
Fans "take a back seat" because our teams won't be able to afford the best players? We can't see the best players anyway, if tickets are too expensive! Do football and basketball fans feel like they take a back seat under their caps? I haven't heard any complaints.
This makes me sad because Linden was one of my favourite players, but his involvement in the NHLPA and his recent quotes has tarnished him for me.
