I have had this puck for a long time, it was given to me by my grandfather, and i have never been able to I.D. any of the autographs on the puck. If anyone can help me I.D. who exactly autographed this puck i would appreciate it very much. Even though it says inaugural season on it, my grandpa said he wasnt sure the autographs were obtained in the inaugural season.

oh the joys of scribble decoding. hmmm I suggest you take the pucks into the Honda and ask if they have a guy/gal who can identify the hieroglypics.

My son gave me a team signed duck mask from the inaugural season. I managed to decipher who all the signatures were and I can make out a few on your puck.

White side:

To the left of the Duck beak - Steven King #17 (King looks like #18, but it isn't.)
To the right of the Duck - Joe Sacco #14
Dark in on the top of the Duck looks like Oleg Tverdovsky #10, although he wasn't inaugural. But it isn't Jarrod Skalde's signature and it is definitely #10
At the bottom of the right hockey blade appears to be David Williams' signature
Next to King looks like it could be Anatoli Semenov in gold ink.
Not sure about the signature under Semenov with a 2 nearby. Might be able to decipher better in person.

Dark side:

on "Inaugural" I believe it is Stu Grimson, #32
The bigger picture is too blurry and it is too dark to determine the rest of the signatures.

Again, in person I could probably be of more help. Or a clearer picture would help, too.

At least it's a start!

i might try that... like mrsbevo said it would probably be easier to tell in person

You might try setting the camera to macro mode, usually identified by a flower icon such as this and you should get focus up closer.

Believe me, people at the Honda are NOT going to know who's who for old autographs. It would be helpful if they put out a guide, though. Many of the old media guides have simulated autographs with the players pictures, which helps, but not all years.

The other problem with the puck is the dark background on one side. That also makes it more difficult to discern the writing and player number, if any. Try a clearer photo of both and I'll be happy to see if I can unravel a few more!

maybe angle the puck(or light) a little so the light reflects off the ink, sharpie ink has different reflective properties than the rubber/printing on the puck. that's why it is easier to make them out in person, you can sometimes tilt the puck to catch the light on the ink.
